About the home

This restored farmhouse is situated in large grounds with private pool,on the outskirts of Monclar d'Agenais near Villeneurve-sur -lot,in the Lot -et -Garonne South west France.

Unwind in our relaxing peaceful countryside and swim away those worries in our large pool.Enjoy cooking in the huge country style kitchen ,or may be an evening of BBQ & lots of local wine on the patio in front of the pool watching the stars.The property has two steps from the kitchen to sitting room and also the other end from the bedrooms to the front door, otherwise all on one level. Parts of the house are over 200yrs old , has charm and character being features from the original farm barns built into the sitting room.The French doors open from the lounge onto the patio for those lazy lunches or long balmy evenings with BBQ and wine overlooking the pool and an acre of garden.

The farmhouse has 3 double bedrooms,one with a super-king size bed,which can be made into 2 singles if needed.This room has its own basin as well.The next bedroom has a standard double bed.Third bedroom has twin beds.Kitchen is farmhouse style huge ! Electric/Gas range style cooker to enjoy. Sitting room is full of French charm with lovely beams and wonderful wood burning fire for the winter. Bathroom has shower over the full length bath, also has twin basins with separate toilet next door.

Outside which you can get to from the many French doors leading from the sitting room onto the terrace where there are comfortable chairs in the shade. Patio area has a table and chairs and the BBQ ! Proceed to the large pool 10m x 5m with shallow end for children. Sun loungers provided on the pool terrace with large parasols to relax and enjoy those lazy hot sunny days ! Then approx 1 acre of gardens to walk round or play in, with the occasional plum tree,walnut and hazelnut or cherry trees !
There is also a car port for a car beside the house.

A security deposit of £150 due on arrival for brekages and cleaning,which will be returned on leaveing if the property is in good order Swimming pool only available May -September with safety cover which has to be on before dark,and leaving the premises
The English owners are nearby to answer all your questions of the area.
House available out if season too , may be a French Christmas ! Or that house hunting for a new life ?

Change over day Saturday 4pm in and 10 o'clock to leave your little bit of paradise till next time !
Refundable breakages & cleaning deposit €150 required on arrival to be refunded on your departure subject to satisfactory property inspection.
10% deposit payable when booking ,which is non refundable.
Full payment due 6 weeks before arrival.
Strictly no smoking in the house, but outside on the terrace (not Pool terrace).

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region

Pretty historic Bastide villages are waiting to be explored, or why not take a trip on the tranquil River Lot, by boat or canoe, or visit the splendid châteaux that dot the region in the rolling countryside surrounded by vineyards. Just a few hours away Carcassone is worth a visit and its magnificent castle.Or a trip to Rockamador to see the town built into the rocks

If you're sporty we have a challenging 9 hole Golf course at Tombeboeuf owned by an English couple only between 10/15 mins from our house Camirout by car. The club is very friendly with both French and English. There are clubs,trolleys and buggies for hire.

The speciality of the area is the local night markets held between July and September. They are a must to visit for tasting the locally produced food and wine and beer ! There is live music to dance the night away too. It's a fun evening for all ages to be enjoyed in our hot balmy evenings and watch the sun set.

The Villeneuve Sur Lot / Monclar d' Agenais area

Monclar d' Agenais a 12th centry village,which is approx 5 mins away by car.Here you will find the bakers, grocers, Pharmacy, tourist information, Theatre which has major big productions,bank, postoffice. The village is situated on top of a hill which has splendid views stretching to the Pyrenees! In the village there are 8 wells to be found on a walk which you will find information at the tourist office.

Each village has its market day where you can buy fresh local food,or just walk around taking in the atmosphere.
Villeneuve or Tonneins are approx 20 mins away for the supermarkets.

“A lovely relaxing week..” We had a very enjoyable week staying in Camirout. The house has everything necessary for a holiday - well equipped kitchen, lots of space, a television & DVD player (teenagers) and it remained cool despite the outside temperatures. The pool and garden were great and a sun lounger for everyone (which has been a common downfall of other places we have rented - causing endless arguments). The English owners live nearby and were extremely helpful assisting us with knowledge of local events that we would otherwise have missed. They were also considerate on other matters too - one of the sun parasols broke and they very kindly replaced it with a new one early the next morning. The local area is very peaceful and rural, there were plenty of places of interest to find (within 30mins drive), the local markets were buzzing and the evening markets a must. Aside from the street markets, the local supermarkets stocked a huge array of great food especially fish - which was delicious on the barbecue. All in all a great stress free week - wish we were still there.

“Fantastic Holiday” We had a fantastic time, the villa is extreamly beautiful and most importantly very clean. The pool and pool area are lovely and there is plenty of sunbeds. The vendors are very friendly and will help you out if you need anything. A car is required as the nearest supermarket is about a 10 minute drive away. There are plenty of places to visit if you require. If you require a relaxing holiday then Camirout is the place to go. Many Thanks x

“Holiday review” Holiday trip for family of two adults and two teenagers. Absolutely lovely house, spotlessly clean, had all necessary kitchen utensils, appliances etc., very friendly and helpful hosts, plenty of tourist information available on site. Lovely setting, peaceful area and beautiful village a stone's throw away. Quiet roads perfect for walking/cycling. Beautiful warm private pool, tidy gardens 10/10. Pool easily one of the highlights of the holiday, perfect for keeping cool in the warm weather and for keeping the kids occupied, winner all round! Twin bedroom more basically equipped than master and double bedroom, but fine for children. Lovely holiday, easily one of the best we've ever been on, wouldn't hesitate to go back!
