This is a romantic cottage built in the twelth century in the ramparts of a fortified medieval village on top of a small hill, affording stunning views of the landscape. The village of TOURNON D'AGENAIS was built originally by the English in the time of Richard the Lion heart, the main fortified village has retained much of its original character. The village is served by its own collection of shops (butcher, baker, etc.) these are gathered outside the village walls leaving the pretty square with coffee shops and restaurant. The village is very active with evening summer markets and music festivals , it is a haven for artists painting and sketching and couples just soaking up the true French way of life. The cottage is full of original features and because of its elevated position commands one of the best views in the village, it is equipped to a high standard in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible.The cottage is one of the few that that has a doorway down on the rampart base affording a great place to sit outside.It has central heating and satellite T.V. it has a new bathroom and romantic wood burning stove in the bedroom. Restaurants and bars are just paces away down the quiet streets. The cottage has a spacious double bedroom with two reception rooms one of which could be used as a bedroom.
