An idyllic place to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway from it all, but within easy reach of all the delights of the Cote d'Azur. Located between the Basse and Moyenne Corniche in a beautifully landscaped garden setting, within a secure and highly sought after block, the apartment provides panoramic views over the wide sweep from Beaulieu and Cap Ferrat to Villefranche and Mount Boron. Inside, this spacious, light and bright apartment is appointed with top of the range Italian furniture and fixtures, and has tiled or marble floors throughout. From a large terrace and from each of the living rooms there are splendid views over Villefranche and its surroundings. While a car is advisable, for those who enjoy walking there are pleasant footpaths leading down to the waterfront of Villefranche with its restaurants, bars, beaches, etc and up to the local shops of Col de Villefranche. There is easy bus and train access to nearby Eze, Monaco and Nice and to more distant destinations such as Menton, Antibes and Cannes.

The apartment is furnished to the highest standard and with white marble floors throughout provides a clean and easily maintained living space. The kitchen and bathroom have both been recently modernised to the highest specification. There is a private locked garage in the basement and a cave for additional storage should that be needed. For longer stays (4 or more weeks) telephone, internet and cable television can be provided. Although a cot is not provided this could be arranged if needed.

A large adjoining terrace from which there are spectacular views has additional open air dining facilities and easy chairs. A sun blind can be adjusted to suite your requirements. There is parking within the gated complex and a dedicated garage in the basement of the apartment block. Communal gardens are exquisitly maintained and provide a peaceful haven of tranquility from the hustle and bustle of NIce and Monaco. Access to the grounds is via locked gates operated by a personalised electronic control.

To ensure that you are welcomed with a consistently high standard of cleanliness and to make sure your last day is as relaxed as possible, we have arranged for cleaning of the apartment and all the linen to be done for you; for this there is an extra charge of €70 normally paid to the local agent when you collect the keys at the start of your visit. If you require special conditions for meet andf greet the local agent will ask for an additional €30.
We prefer rentals of one week modules starting and ending on Saturdays, but understand that it is often not so easy to find cheaper flights at weekends; as best we can we will try to accommodate any special requests you might have. Normal rental rates are discounted for multilply week stays; a 5% reduction for 2 weeks, 10% for 3 and 15% for 4 weeks. greater reductions may be possible for longer stays.
Conditions
Small pets that will be not disruptive to other residents and are properly housetrained will be considered. It is not an ideal location for young children which helps make it ideal for those who are looking for peace and quiet. There is a lift from the basement garage to the apartment with entrances that are wheel chair friendly. For the sake of other vitiors we would prefer that smoking does not occur within the apartment. Smokers who would be prepared to do so outside would of course be welcome. A refundable breakage and damage deposit is required.

The Cote d'Azur retains all of its long recognised allure, combining modern luxury with belle epoch and old world charm. Steep mountains fall precipitously into deep and enticing azur seas that provide a haven for all forms of watersports and attract yachts of all sizes description. When people think of the Riviera it is probably the view over the rade of Villefranche sur Mer, with St Jean Cap Ferrat on one side and Cap Nice on the other, that immediately springs to mind. People travelling the Basse or Moyenne Cornich are compelled to stop and take in the beauty of the outlook, also enjoyed from the apartment. Villefranche has safe and clean beaches with any number of splendid restaurants having tables at which you can almost get your feet wet in the gently lapping waves. It is a medieval town with a world famous covered street. From Nice there is easy access to the winter sports facilities at the popular ski resort of Isola. Mountain and coastal walks provide a wonderful way to explore this region that must still rank as one the most beautiful in Europe and the world.
The Villefranche Sur Mer area
Villefranche sur Mer has from the 2nd century BC oscillated between French and Italian control. Its architecture reflects this rich and varied history, as does its culture and cuisine. It has one of the most sheltered natural harbours on the south coast of France and consequently provides a popular stopping off point for visiting cruise ships and shelter for visiting yachtmen, which is how I first discovered its charm. There are regular fruit and vegetable markets, and antique fairs, in Villefranche and in many of the nearby villages and towns such as Beaulieu, St Jean, Nice and Menton. There are locally almost continuous cultural events, festivals and sporting events and in close proximity the prestigious attractions of the Canne Film Festival, the Menton Music Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix. It is just a short bus or car journey to the popular winter skiing grounds at Isola. The waterfront at Villefranche provides a popular venue for strolls along the promenade where the quayside restaurants mingle with the colours of local fishing boats and nets. Little wonder it continues to be a favourite with so many artists, writers and other discerning aesthetes.

Flights to Nice are regular and if booked in advance with one of the budget airlines can be really cheap. With easyjet, for example, access is now so much more convenient and reasonably priced from many UK and other European airports. There is easy road access (taxi or hire car) or bus via the Nice Central Bus Station connecting to buses to the Col de Villefranche from where it is possible to walk to the apartment. Alternatively you can take a bus from the airport to the Central Station, with a quick rail connection to Villefranche. There are excellent train services connecting Nice and Villefranche with the rest of Europe.
