The apartment is newly renovated and very well maintained and comfortable. Situated just a few minutes walk from the old historic village of Villefranche with its wonderful restaurants and beach and within easy reach of just about everything your heart desires along this famous coast. There is plenty of parking outside the building and a lift takes you to the fourth floor of the small building. Monaco and Nice are just ten minutes away in either direction. The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Villefranche is situated 4kms from Nice Centre and 7km from Nice International airport. A well kept secret as it retains it's charm due to lack of major hotels nearby. You can happily spend all your time in the Village enjoying discovering it's wonderful history and why artists such as Jean Cocteau and Sommerset Maughan loved this area so much. In the 60's the music of the Rolling Stones could be heard across the bay as they had a villa on Cap Ferrat. Yet the village still retains it's authentic feeling.
Villefranche also benefits from a micro-climate which means that the suns shines all year round making it perfect for a winter break. If you do wish to venture forth, the train which is 7 minutes away runs all along the coast. Nice or Monaco are ten minutes away or you can be in Italy in 40 minutes. The wonderful village of Eze is 20 minutes by car or St Paul de Vence, Cannes and Antibes
Villefranche Sur Mer / Villefranche Old Town area
The Village itself is full of history and dates back to the 12th century. There are weekly tours around the village and Citadel. The oldest street runs below the apartment. Jean Cocteau is famous was having lived in Villefranche and the chapel was designed by him. He stayed at the Hotel Welcome which is in front of the apartment. There are regular festivals in the Citadel and village celebrations which take place during the year. Each Sunday there is an antique market in the square.

Further details indoors: This is a very well maintained apartment in a lovely building. The village centre is moments away. The apartment has a magnificent view and has the advantage of being very peaceful yet close to so many amenities.
There is the added advantage of a lift to the fourth floor which in this area is not always the case. Many of the apartment are in older buildings that do not have lifts.
There is easy parking around in the streets but you can manage very well without a car. The buses are moments away that take you either way to Nice or Monaco. The train is also very close which goes all along the coast to Italy or St Tropez.

Le Cantegril - end of October 2007 Hi Mattie, just got back from Villefranche, What a lovely apartment, so well equipped and Norbert is a really nice friendly host..The weather was great for us but just a little chilly in the evenings. We managed to swim and do lots of sightseeing along the coast. Villefranche is a lovely village and I would recommend it to anybody. Best regards Richard and Lesley

The apartment is in a stunning location and was very comfortable for us. If I close my eyes I can still imagine myself sat on the terrace with a glass of rose ......... Villefranche has a lot to offer from superb restaurants, try the moules at Cosmo, to interesting shops and is so easy for exploring the rest of the cote d'azure as the train so handy at the end of the quay.

We spent a lovely week in Villefranche and loved this peaceful apartment. It is very comfortable, immaculately clean and of course the terrace and view are wonderful. Just I short walk to the village and sea although more effort needed coming back and loved the quiet of the apartment and comfortable bed. Thank you Mattie and Norbert for looking after us so well! Mattie recommended Cafe de la Paix in Beaulieu for lunch - it was great! We liked Cosmos too.....So thank you for a great holiday! We will be back.
