These are two superb fully refurbished two room (one bedroom ) apartments in the heart of the Old Town of Villefranche sur Mer . You are only a few metres away from all the local bars and restaurants, the Port, and the famous fortress, and only about a 6/7 minute walk to station or buses which are great for going East to Monaco, Menton and Italy, or West to Nice, Antibes, Cannes etc.

The apartments are on the top floor of a very old and characterful building (circa 1760), and up 3 flights of rather steep stairs (!) but the view from the top is excellent. Inside, the apartments are decorated in contemporary style, and are light and airey. One apartment has twin beds in the bedroom, while the other apartment has a double bed and both have wall to wall mirrored wardrobes. They each benefit from modern shower rooms and fully equipped new "American" kitchens (M/Wave with grill, hotplates, fridge, dishwasher, coffee perc, etc). The living / dining rooms in both apartments boast lovely views across the rooftops and out to the bay of Villefranche. There is a sofabed in the living room in each apartment as well. There is also free WIFI.

Each apartment is suitable for 2 or 3 people, with someone using the bed-settee. As both share the same floor in the same building they are ideal for a larger group when booked together.

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

All the way down in the south east of France along the Mediterranean, and next to the Italian border, are the Maritime Alps and the world renowned Côte d'Azur.

What makes this department so beautiful is its craggy coastline with the Alps plunging straight down in the blue sea. At certain times of the year one can even have the difficult choice of whether to ski or to swim.

The slopes and the sea are merely an hour apart by car. The sun is legendary shining 320 days a year.

From Cannes to Nice going through Antibes and Menton all the way to the Italian border this area is one not only of beauty but of prestige. The coastline is spotted with turn of the century mansions and modern luxury homes.

During the summer months when the Côte d'Azur is particularly lively one can find sunbathers on the beaches of sand or pebbles and strollers leisurely walking along the Croisette in Cannes or the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.

The quaint old quarters ot Nice and the famous flower market are a delight to visit. All along the coast one is charmed by the little fishing ports so important to the local culture and industry. There are world renowned events that take place here such as Mardi Gras in Nice, the Jazz Festival in Juan les Bains, and the Film Festival in Cannes.

As soon as one leaves the sea going inland the landscape changes radically. The roads spiral through the hills and the mountains jutting up high above the water. The vegetation changes; its Mediterranean nature showing through.

The hills are covered with umbrella pines, thyme shrubs, flowering laurel trees, giant cactus plants and olive groves, all accompanied by the constant singing of the cicadas.

The city of Grasse has become the perfum centre of France thanks to all of these aromatic plants.

Villefranche-sur-Mer is a well-known small Mediterranean resort located between Nice and Monaco. Villefranche-sur-Mer, radiant city, with its harbour and its Citadel at the foot of a huge amphitheatre of hills and the majestic curve of the shore has retained its style since its creation in 130 B.C. It kept numerous vestiges of its origin and with its large variety of colours, it became the city of painters and artists.

Seaside town with a privileged situation, it has become a tourism port of the French Riviera, place of call for numerous cruise ships. The best units of the French and foreign fleets stay several times a year in the bay. Villefranche-sur-Mer, fishermen's port, shelters a flotilla of pleasure boats, and cabin cruisers.

Villefranche-sur-Mer owes its charm to the tranquillity of the climate which results in an exceptional and a magnificent flora and fauna.

"Absolutely wonderful!!"

What can I say about this beautiful place? A modern renovated apartment on the top floor of an old building in the heart of Old Town within walking distance to shops, restaurants, places of interest and train & bus stations. Close to Monaco, St Tropez, Cannes and Nice so no car required. Enjoy walks along the bay or explore the narrow streets dripping with history and lined with cafes and restaurants. The apartment is fully self contained and you can just stay in to relax and enjoy the view over the bay to watch the cruise liners come in! Your host, Ian, is a real gentlemen, and will make you feel very welcome. A real taste of the French Riviera for us commoners. We'll be back!!

"A perfect holiday apartment - very well equipped and stocked, fantastic views and very close to everything."

We loved our stay in this apartment. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly, and we thought the location was perfect - on a gorgeous pedestration street with boulangerie and shop very close for fresh morning breakfast! Seaview from the window. We were delighted there was a washing machine there - it made life so much easier for us, and the apartment was also very well stocked with towels and bed linen. It was so lovely when we arrived to be offered a drink on arrival! Very welcoming to us after the travel, and set the tone for a fantastic week ahead!
