The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
Villefranche is situated 4kms from Nice Centre and 7km from Nice International airport. A well kept secret as it retains it's charm due to lack of major hotels nearby.
The train which is 7 minutes away runs all along the coast. Nice or Monaco are ten minutes away or you can be in Italy in 40 minutes. Drive into the hills and visit Eze or St Paul de Vence. Antibes and Cannes are within easy reach.
Villefranche Sur Mer / Villefranche Old Town area
Villefranche benefits from a micro climate and is famous for its beautiful bay which is the deepest along the coast. The bay is a natural shelter, protected by an amphitheatre of mountains, which since antiquity served as a harbour for the Greek and Roman navies and most recently in the second world war for the American sixth fleet.
The village is full of history and it's Citadel is a symbol and reminder of times gone by when this harbour needed to defend itself from foreign invaders.
Many artists have been attracted to this magical place. Somerset Maugham wrote about it and Jean Cocteau decorated the little ancient chapel Saint-Pierre which adorns the Quai. He used to stay at the Welcome Hotel.
How to get there
Easy Jet to Nice Airport which is 20 to 40 minutes drive from the apartment. Trains from Nice train station come into the Village if you are coming by train.
The apartment is a short walk from the train station. There are very good buses to the village from Nice.

Guestbook for Villa Les Fauvettes
Edie Lovingood
Our group (five couples) recently stayed at Les Fauvettes. The three separate living areas allowed us to spread out and not be in each others hair. The villa was clean and well maintained and Norbert checked on us frequently. Of course, the view was to die for!! The village was a precious gem and the location proved to be very central for our drives to Monaco, Nice, Ez, and villages in between. We enjoyed the restaurant, Comos, so much that we went twice. It is located in the village and was recommended by Mattie. I would, however, not recommend this villa if you have a disability that prevents you from climbing steps, as the villa has approximately 50 steps. Otherwise, I would highly recommend a visit to this heaven on earth.

Hi Mattie, Villa Les Fauvettes. We had a thoroughly wonderful time at Les Fauvettes, thought the villa truly lived up to photos and description and Norbert was charming as well as very 'hands on'.We have recommended the villa to all our friends and hope to return ourselves in the future! Thanks again and best regards Sharon

My family and I, twelve of us total(!), spent a glorious week at Villa Les Fauvettes and Artistes Tresor in June, and it was all we hoped for and more. Both properties are stunning, well-equipped, comfortable. and perfectly located. Day trips out to Nice, Eze (a must!), Roquebrune, Monaco, Cap Ferrat, Haut Cagnes, and Biot, with afternoons at the villa's infiniti pool or Villefranche beach, and evenings in Villefranche - all gathered for dinner on the villa's terrace at sunset or dining in one of the old village's lovely restaurants, combined for a dream vacation. One of my sons proposed to his girlfriend in the private little side garden our second evening there, making the week even more memborable. We are still floating on the memories of our time there, and will return someday to these perfect places in Villefranche - they are without peer.

We've just returned from a week at Les Fauvettes, and I would thoroughly recommend it as a wonderful place to stay. Great location and views, great accommodation/kitchens, and even with a party of 10 there's so much space it never feels crowded. If you want to cook/entertain/chill there's everything you need and more, and the gardens in particular allow people to grab some personal space to read/chill with ease. Everyone in our party thought it couldn't be better, and we plan to return.
