The apartment is close walking distance to the train station with regular trains running along the coast from St. Raphael to Vintigmille (Italy).
The Villefranche Sur Mer area
The port, the citadelle, the old town, and the gentle curve of the coast all contribute to the beauty of the village which dates back to 130 BC.
With its colourful fishing boats and nets, the port is both a base for fishermen and tourists, offering numerous cruises in the summer. You can wander along the fishing wharves, bordered by restaurants and their terraces. If you continue until the end you will arrive at the lengthy Villefranche beach which is pleasant from the very first days of summer.
The Saint Elme citadel which over-looks the sea dates from the 16th century and appears to watch over the old part of the town today

We came for the second time this year to this marvellous place, this time again for 10 nights. The view from the balcony over the bay with hundreds of sailing boats is wonderful and romantic, and as we could not go out for dinner because of our toddler, we were able to eat dinner on our balcony every night, so we had a great time here and had one of the best places of the village I believe. The kitchen is fully furnished, with a microwave with oven function and coffee maker. It is great to have a clohes washer, so we could leave some of the kid´s clothes at home - drying the clothes on the balcony in summer time is no problem. Moreover, the appartment is very close to the train station, and Monaco (approx.15 min) and Nice (approx.7 min) are not far at all. We will come back for sure - this is a real insiders´tip!!! |
