About the home

The villa is approximately 3000 sq feet and located in a quiet area of Villefranche village. It is a very unusual diamond shape and has over 33 windows. It was built by the King of Belgium's in 1904 for his mistress. Everything about the villa is of the highest quality with all furniture, curtains , bedding etc. of a luxurious standard. Air Conditioning in 3 bedrooms and full central heating. There is a Clive Christian kitchen in the bottom floor. The rear faces South and is sunny. Built in 1890, this old villa has all the features of the French Belle Epoque era.

The swimming pool is very large and can be heated. This villa is located in the centre of Villefranche so is very convenient for everything. All the shops, bakery and small supermarket are a minute walk. The port and train station (+beach) are a 5 and 10 minute walk respectively. This is an exceptional property, in the best possible location. Normally, it is impossible to find a large villa with large pool and garden in the centre of a village.

Villefranche is a very historic town and used to be part of Italy. There are many places of interest such as the Citadel which is 400 years old , the church decorated by Michelle Cocteau or the Old Town itself. There are also many art galleries and frequent festivals. A market is open every Saturday and Sunday.

The Villefranche Sur Mer / Villefranche Old Town area

Villefranche is central to all the interesting places on the coast. The train is 2 stops to the centre of Nice and 8 stops (17 mins) to Monaco (Monte Carlo). Italy is only 35 minutes away.

Villefranche is considered one of the best locations on the Cote d'Azur. It is situated between Nice and Monaco and is beside Cap Ferrat and Beaulieu. It is based around the Old Town which has street Rue Obscure unchanged since the 16 th century. Most of the village sweeps down to the sea and there are many restaurants on the port.

Places of interest include the Citadel, built in the 15 th century which is now a museum and Mayor's HQ.
