L'Etable has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Both bedrooms are upstairs, one with a king-size double bed and the other with two single beds and a comfortable 'folder'. The bathroom has a bath with integral shower, a WC and a wash basin.
Downstairs there is a beautifully-sized open plan living space with a dining table and chairs, and sofa and television area. At the other end of the room is the kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas hob and eye-level electric oven/rotisserie.
Large glass door/windows open onto the superb private terrace, which is equipped with outside dining table, chairs, sun parasol and barbecue. There is also an enclosed garden, from which you can cross a gravel pathway and gain direct access to the (gated) swimming pool area.

L'Etable combines exceptional modern comforts with traditional features. The owners have gone to great lengths to maintain the character of this Quercynois farmbuilding and because they live on-site there is always someone to help, advise or even fix something in the unlikely event of something going wrong. But it's also about privacy and leaving guests to enjoy their holiday at their own time and pace.

Quite apart from its tranquil, beautiful setting, L'Etable has both a private terrace and garden and is right by the 12 x 6 metre swimming pool. There's lots of space for recreation and paths and lanes lead off in all directions: just waiting to be explored on foot or by bicycle (available on request).
We normally rent by the week in the more popular months but because as owners we live on-site, year round we can always accept more unusual rental demands. We ask for one-third of the rental up-front at the time of booking and the balance two months before your stay. A caution or security deposit of 150€ is requested on your arrival and all being well this is reimbursed at the end your stay. In winter months we ask for a contribution towards heating costs.
The Midi-Pyrenees / Aveyron region
The 'département' of Aveyron is one of the hidden gems of France and forms part of the region of Midi-Pyrénées that stretches from the river Lot down to the Pyrénées mountains that border Spain.
Massar is in the far west of the Aveyron, just on the edge of the Quercy national park, a limestone plateau or ‘causse’ which is a paradise for lovers of the tranquil outdoors. Walking, cycling, river watersports as well as tennis and swimming are all popular. Eating, in or out, is a notable pastime - even by French standards - as the region is the agricultural heartland of France. And restaurants are amazingly good value thanks to menus of the day and gratuities being included by law. Even seafood is a joy thanks to the famous French enthusiasm for fresh fish. The Office de Tourism locally at nearby Villefranche de Rouergue is a mine of information and language is no problem.
The Villefranche de Rouergue / Martiel area
Massar is less than 2km from Martiel, a large village that boasts an artisanal bakery, grocer's shop and post office, so it's easily walkable. It is10 minutes by car from Villefranche de Rouergue.

Massar is most easily accessed either by road (A20 or A75 autoroutes) or by air from Paris or London to Rodez (Ryanair) or Toulouse (a choice of several airlines). We recommend either bringing or hiring a car although there is a railway station at Villefranche de Rouergue 10km away serving Toulouse and the Paris line from Figeac.
