About the home

It is situated inside a countryside hamlet in an isolated valley in the south-east of Sardinia. It has just been built according to the ecological design principles, it is 10 minutes by car far from the most enchanting beaches of the island and near the regional park.

The building and the systems are made according the ecological design principles: roofs and wooden-beam floors, ecological varnishes, loose stone foundation anti-radon, main walls, natural terracotta-tiled floors, lattice mattresses, copper heating at skirting board level.

Large liveable open air spaces (gazebo and veranda) allow you to live at the open air for 6 months per year, having available fruit in season and 10,000 square metres of Mediterranean vegetation.
Ground floor:shaded veranda, large living-room with fireplace and two sofa beds, large kitchen, bathroom (shower), laundry and storeroom.

First floor: two large bedrooms with shower and landscape view.
Besides the flats have: washing machine, dish-washer, hoover, iron, table linen, accessories for beach and accessories for babies.

The Sardinia region

Someone says that a piece of art is like an island because it is very easy to admire its perimeter, and most are pleased with it, but it is very difficult to a way inside.

Sardinia is exactly like this, not only because it is an island, but even the landscape which is 68% hills. Its charm is not only on the coast that are considered one of the most beautiful in the world with his fine white sand beaches, its almost inaccessible reefs, its ample gulfs and creeks. This landscape's variousness is the reason of the swell in tourism in the last 30 years.

Sardinia is also mystery and history in his hinterland: it is able to combine tourism and traditions, modernity and history in order to create one of the most characteristic human and environmental landscape in the world. Since his birth, Sardinia has been isolated in the middle of Mediterranean that is why it is so mysterious for people coming from other countries.

The climate is typical of the Mediterranean. The weather is clear. During the year approximately 300 days are sunny and the few others are rainy, with a major concentration of rainfall in the winter. The mistral is the dominant wind, fresh, strong, and usually dry and cold, blowing from the Northwest throughout the year, but most frequently in winter.

The Villasimius / Castiadas area

Our region, named Sarrabus is in the south east of Sardinia Island.

The hamlet is far about 60 km (less of 1 hour by car) from Cagliari, between Muravera and Castiadas. Muravera is a little town with all kind of shops and is far 17 km.

10 minutes by car from our hamlet, there’s a big beach of Feraxi and Colostrai, very wild and desert. The water isn't deep, the water is very warm, it's perfect for children. In our web site there are some photos about it. About 20 minutes by car there’s a big white beach of Costa Rey (10 km long). The sea has a wonderful green colour.

A big archaeological site named Nuraghe Arrubiu is about 1,5 hour by car. It’s a very big megalithic structure 3.500 years old.

Near the hamlet (4 km) there’s a pizzeria very good and many typical restaurant not expensive.
The Sarrabus produce red wines (cannonau, monica), white wine (vermentino, nuragus), best quality olive oil and many farm next our hamlet produce it.

Near our house there's the possibility to practice many sports: trekking, sailing, diving, riding, cycling, parachute...

Many low cost companies fly to Cagliari or Alghero - Our hamlet is 1 hour by car from the Cagliari airport, 3 hour from Alghero Airport.

By ferries from Genova, Livorno or Civitavecchia.

“it's great” sehr schön gelegenes .großes Haus mit freundlichem Vermieter,etwas hellhörig,falls eine weitere Familie das 2.Haus mitbewohnt,wir kommen wieder. Response: Thank you very much my kind guests for their positive opinion, but I'm a bit sorry for the opinion expressed about the proximity of the second house. First of all the house was unoccupied at the time. Then no one has ever complained, indeed, the structure being isolated, all were always happy to exchange every now and then a chat or exchange information.

“coup de coeur pour cette maison” Très bonne appréciation pour cette maison de vacances située au sud de la Sardaigne. Très bonnes prestations, qualité du bâti, calme et à 15 mn de la mer. Nous étions avec nos 3 enfants qui ont également apprécié.

“Une grande maison dans les vignes entre mer et montagne” Un endroit idéal pour se ressourcer et profiter du soleil de la Sardaigne, de la mer, de la montagne. Abba Arrubia est bien située, à une dizaine de minutes en voiture de grandes plages presque désertes. La maison est très agréable, bien conçue, pratique. Un terrasse permet de déjeuner, de diner, de se reposer en toute tranquillité. Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable et nous aimons y retourner. Les propriétaires sont très charmants et très amicaux.
