Apartment 3 is a huge 157m2 three bedroom, three bathroom ground floor apartment which benefits from very high ceilings and lots of natural light. The emphasis throughout is on comfort and luxury in a home from home environment: A roaring fireplace, goosedown bedding from 'The White Company', crisp 400T Egyptian linen, deep baths and powershowers by 'Villeroy and Bosch' and 'Duravit', huge 40" flat screen TV with Sky+, Wii and PS3, free Wifi and a stunning professional kitchen will ensure your stay is a truly comfortable one.
The apartment is a careful mix of traditional materials and contemporary design giving the perfect chalet chic experience. There are rustic antique wooden walls, parquet flooring with underfloor heating, an oak kitchen, chocolate faux-suede dining chairs and comfy sofas. The three bedrooms (one king and two SuperKings/twins) have huge fitted wardrobes, leather club chairs and imported pocket sprung beds to ensure you have the best night's sleep.
The professional kitchen with stylish granite worktops, breakfast bar, double American fridge and professional 'Falcon' rangecooker means that you can be assured a pleasurable cooking experience. The kitchen opens onto an enormous living and dining area where there is ample room to entertain everyone. There are huge floor to ceilng windows that open out onto a private garden with tables and chairs where you can enjoy the stunning views of the nearby mountain ranges.
The beauty of Chalet Balthazar is that it is under 2 minutes walk to the ski train, the local shops, bars and restaurants and the ski school meeting point. This means that there is no ski school stress in the morning and keen skiers can easily make the first train up to make fresh tracks. Non-skiers of all ages can enjoy the delights of Villars on foot and easily walk to the swimming pool, ice rink, bowling or take the train up to the ski domain.
To make your stay even easier, there is a communal boot room with heated boot warmers and ski racks just by the front door.

We have carefully mixed traditional materials with contemporary design to give a perfect chalet chic experience in a home from home environment. Roaring open fires, underfloor heating, bathrooms by Villeroy and Bosch and Duravit, The White Company bedding, Falcon rangecookers and 400T Egyptian linen are some of the comforts that will make your stay a luxurious one.
Apartment 3 has beautiful rustic wood interiors and very high celings. All the rooms are exceptionally spacious and there is oak parquet flooring and underfloor heating throughout. The large oak kitchen with stylish granite worktops has a breakfast bar and a double American fridge freezer. There are chocolate faux suede dining chairs, pocket sprung beds, deep baths, powershowers and sofas with lots of cushions. Endless entertainment opportunities for those not wanting to venture outdoors include free wifi access, flat screen TV, Sky+, PS3 and Wii.
There is a communal boot room for guests with heated boot warmers and ski racks just by the front door to cut out any hassle from your holiday.

Chalet Balthazar is a stunning and much commented on building. Whilst in the centre of town it maintains a wonderfully discreet and quiet atmosphere. The exterior of the building is clad in warm wood and the carpentry has been finished to an exceptionally high standard. At night stunning up/down lights give the Chalet an air of exclusivity. In the evenings, the pink light of the sunset reflects off the building making it look almost magical in appearance. The living room of Apartment 3 leads out onto a large private garden enclosed by fir trees and a sturdy wooden fence. There are table and chairs outside, sun lounger (in the summer) and a well kept flat garden where children can play safely. From the garden, guests can enjoy the stunning views of the 'Dents de Midi' and 'Muveran' mountain ranges. Two of the bedrooms of Apartment 3 also look out onto a small private garden to the east of the building providing privacy and tranquility. There is private parking to the rear of the building in this prime location. In summer colourful geraniums adorn the balconies and in winter the paths and parking areas are cleared early in the morning for our guests.
No ski school stress in the morning - you can warm your boots and store your skis safely in the communal boot room and simply walk across the road to the ski school meeting point.
Villars ski passes are FREE for kids under 9
Keen skiers staying at Chalet Balthazar can walk 2 minutes across the road to catch the first train up to the pistes and make fresh tracks.
A short walk to the shops, bars, restaurants, swimming pool, ice skating and bowling mean there are endless opportunities for non-skiers - both old and young.
The Swiss Alps region
Villars sur Ollon is an exclusive but discreet, family orientated dual season resort perched upon a sunny south facing plateau above the Rhone valley near Montreux. It is approx 75 minutes from Geneva by motorway and a regular train service connects Geneva airport to Bex or Aigle nearby. Villars is a secluded and relaxing mountain retreat which remains within easy reach of the rest of the world.
Situated in pole position in Villars, moments from the shops, bars and restaurants of the Rue Centrale and 50 metres from the bus/train station from where the ski train takes you up to the main ski area at Bretaye. Although in the heart of the village, Chalet Balthazar retains a quiet and discreet atmosphere.
In winter, 75 ski lifts connect 220km of slopes and a chairlift connection to the neighbouring resort of ‘Les Diablerets’ enables year-round skiing on the glacier at 3,000m. Sledging, ice-skating, Nordic skiing and snowshoe walking provide skiers and non-skiers with endless possibilities. Two respected ski schools provide expert tuition and children under 9 benefit from free ski passes. For those who like to ski in a different resort everyday, Verbier is 40 mins away, Chamonix 1h 15mins, Les Portes du Soleil (Champery, Avoriaz & Morzine) 40 mins and Gstaad 1h. Crans Montana, Saas Fee and Zermatt are further afield but not too far.
In summer, Villars’ 300km of pedestrian paths are an invitation to go for a walk or a hike through the pine woods and wild flower meadows to lakes and small alpine villages. You can also practise many different sports such as golf, tennis, swimming, rock-climbing, horse riding, mountain biking or paragliding.
