About the home

Just above the village, this cosy top floor 3 bedroom duplex is ideal for those wanting to get away from the center of town yet have easy and fast access to the village heart, telecabine and mountain train station.
The property benefits from a large south facing balcony offering amazing views over the Alps, the Mont-Blanc and the valley below. This is a true cosy alpine chalet style retreat.
The entrance hallway has a guest WC, a 3rd double bedroom with an adjacent full bathroom, the fully equipped and modern kitchen has everything you may need for a self-catered holiday and is close to the dining area. On this floor is the lounge and dining area (which comfortably seats 8-10) with an open log fireplace and access to the furnished and shaded balcony area.
There are TV's CD/DVD players and WiFi has also been fitted.
The staircase leads up to a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, there is a bathroom with shower and WC as well on this upper level.
THE CHALET HAS A STRICT NO SMOKING AND NO OUTDOOR SHOES POLICY.
There is ample private car parking on the grounds, for 2-3 cars.
The garden is fitted with swings for younger children.

The chalet is situated at the end of a private lane, set in 1'600 sq.m. of land, next to meadows and forest. Fantastic south facing view over the swiss Alps (Dents du Midi, Dents de Morcle, Grand Muveran, and over to the Mont-Blanc massif). Very quiet and secluded area, but not lonely, there are other chalets along the private lane and chalet is located just 3 mns from shops in the resort of Villars.
15/20 mn drive down to the Rhone Valley where ample shopping centres in Monthey, Aigle, Montreux etc...

Garden is shared with owner of the chalet some week-ends.

Conditions

Refundable breakage deposit required (CHF 500.- for weekly rentals, CHF 3'000.- for winter season rental). Suitable for children (swings in garden) - sorry, pets are not allowed - strictly no shoes & no smoking indoors policy.

In winter, Villars’ 75 ski-lifts connect 220 km of slopes and a chairlift connection to the neighbouring resort of “Les Diablerets” enables year-round skiing on the glacier at 3’000m. Sledging, ice-skating, Nordic skiing and snowshoe walking provide skiers and non-skiers with endless possibilities. Two respected ski schools provide expert tuition and children under 9 years benefit from free ski passes. For those who like to ski in a different resort everyday, Verbier is 40 mns away, Chamonix 1hr15, Les Portes du Soleil (Champery, Avoriaz & Morzine) 40 mns and Gstaad 1hr . Crans Montan, Saas Fee and Zermatt are further afield but all skiable on a day’s excursion.
In summer, Villars’ 300 km of pedestrian paths are an invitation to go for a walk, a hike or mountain-biking through the pine woods and wild flower meadows to lakes and small alpine villages. You can do many different sports such as golf, tennis, swimming, rock-climbing, horse riding, mountain biking or paragliding.
Quality local wines available as well as guided visits and wine tasting in the local "caves".
Villars boasts an 18 hole mountain golf course as well as an array of mouth-watering local restaurants.
Aigle, at the bottom of the mountain road offers another 18 hole golf course.

- Fly to Geneva Airport, Villars is 120 km from airport in direction of Lausanne (east), motorway all the way except last 12 km of mountain road (from Aigle, Ollon and up to Villars), about 1h20 driving.

- Car hire available at Geneva airport (numerous international agencies), French sector of airport is cheaper.

Week starts and ends on Saturday, no week-end rentals, minimum one week rental for spring, summer & fall, minimum 3 months in winter.

Price is all inclusive except for end of stay cleaning costs per booking (CHF 200/300.-) and laundry bill (as used, to be paid directly to laundry shop on departure when dirty laundry dropped-off), and phone access if used, these charges (except laundry) will be withdrawn from security deposit.

Payment to be made by bank or postal transfer in Swiss Francs, 50% required to secure booking, non-refundable in case of cancellation, remainder 1 month prior arrival.

Swiss Francs 500.- partially refundable deposit required with final balance payment for weekly rentals.

Winter season only rents out for the entire season, price CHF 17'000.- starting mid-December and ending end of March, the deposit in this case is CHF 3'000.-
