Set over two floors, the apartment consists of a comfortable seating area with TV (limited channels) and DVD player, dining area with seating for 8 and a brand new kitchen with oven, hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Also on the ground floor is a cosy double bedroom and a spacious bathroom with powerful shower. Upstairs there is a bedroom with two single beds (can be pushed together to make a double) and a mezzanine room with adult sized bunk beds. There is also a covered parking space available.

The Swiss Alps / Vaud/Lake Geneva/Swiss Alps region
At an altitude of 1500 metres, Alpe des Chaux is an exclusive development surrounded by spectacular scenery. It is connected by its own lift, only 150 metres from the apartment, to a vast ski area encompassing Barboleuse, Villars, Les Diablerets and the Glacier 3000. It is also within easy reach of other resorts such as Leysin, Verbier and the Portes du Soleil ski circuit. In addition to the 160 km of downhill slopes, there is access to cross country skiing, ice skating and tobogganing. In summer there are miles of wonderful trails for both walkers and cyclists, tennis courts, swimming pool and a fabulous golf course with views to Mont Blanc. There are several English speaking and child friendly ski schools which can be booked prior to arrival in the resort and lift passes are free for under 9s.
Villars, Switzerland / Alpes des Chaux area
Villars is a beautiful Swiss village with friendly restaurants and bars and a mountain train which winds its way up to the ski station at Brettaye. It can also boast a brand new 8 man high speed telecabine which climbs to the peak of Roc d'Orsay in record time. Even closer to the apartment is the small village of Barboleuse with a second telecabine, shops, restaurants and a supermarket. Alpe des Chaux itself has two good restaurants, a ski hire shop and in high season a small shop selling bread and essentials. There is also a toboggan run and children's playground. Further afield you will find white water rafting, a tree climbing adventure park, Bex salt mines, Aqua Parc, Lake Geneva and the spa at Bains de Levay. Chamonix and Mont Blanc are also within easy reach for a day out.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Geneva at 90 minutes drive which is well served by Easyjet, British Airways, BMI and Swiss. Also within two and a half hours drive are airports at Lyon, Basel, Zurich and even Turin. It is also possible to take a train as far as Barboleuse, which is only 5 minutes by taxi to the apartment. It is about an eight hour drive from Calais.

Further details indoors: The apartment sleeps 6 comfortably but it is possible to accommodate up to 8 when using the sofabeds. We regret that we do not accept single sex groups of more than 4.

Electricity, heating, water, bed linen, towels and final cleaning are all included in the price. Changeover days are Saturdays, however a degree of flexibility is sometimes possible, particularly in low season. A 150 pound deposit must be paid at the time of booking and a refundable 150 pound damage deposit is payable with the balance eight weeks before the beginning of the rental period.
Conditions
The relatively steep stairs to the upstairs bedroom and mezzanine area make this property unsuitable for very young children/toddlers.
As with all ski resorts, snow chains are essential.
