A ground floor self catering apartment, completed in early 2006 that offers the highest quality living accommodation sleeping a maximum of 8 in 4 bedrooms. Smaller groups can rent it at a discount . Shops and restaurants are situated 100m from the apartment and the ski telecabine is within a one minute walk. Villars Gryon, excluding the Les Diablerets Glacier, has 100 km of marked ski runs in winter and activities such as glacier skiing, golf, walking and biking in the summer make this a year round destination.

The Swiss Alps / Vaud/Lake Geneva/Swiss Alps region
The village of Barboleuse is situated between Villars and Gryon. This is a traditional, un-spoilt area of Swizerland located on a sunny shelf in the Alpes Vaudoise which enjoys a full southerly aspect with plenty of sun all day long and superb views of the Dents du Midi range and Mont Blanc.
You won't find concrete high rises, bleak 'purpose built' resort accommodation or the catered chalet package holiday crowd. What you will find are authentic chalets ecclectically arranged on the hillsides, friendly affordable restaurants and a warm, mountain style welcome. If you are looking for a lively night out then there are a couple of trendy bars and clubs in the village.
The ski areas are reached either by one of the two cable cars (Barboulouse or Roc d'Orsay) or via a rack and pinion mountain train up to the Col de Bretaye, both afford spectacular views in both Winter and Summer.
There are a number of ski / snowboard schools which have a high standard of instruction and smaller classes than you might otherwise expect. Ecole de Ski Villars is the official ski and snowboard school since 1974. The Villars Swiss Ski and Snowboard School has more than 100 certified ski and snowboard instructors. The Riderschool Villars teaches snowboarding exclusively. For children and beginners there is a nursery lift in the village.
Villars, Switzerland / Barboleuse area
Villars Gryon, excluding the Les Diablerets Glacier, has 100 km of marked ski runs. At an altitude of 1200m - 2120m there is a perfect blend of runs to suit all tastes
Including the Les Diablerets Glacier there is 220 km of marked ski runs up to 3000m.
Shopping Villars boasts good shopping for clothing, watches and chocolates galore! Excursions to Montreux (30km) offers even more choice of excellent shopping.
There are 25 km of cleared paths for walking and snowshoeing. Non-skiers can enjoy a beautiful walk in the sunshine around the lake of Bretaye at 1800 metres.
Golf The Villars 18 hole golf course boasts breathtaking views over the Dents du Midi mountain range. In the winter this course forms part of the ski piste.
There is an adventure park at Aigle (Parc Aventure) and and for adults and children the aqua parc at Le Bouveret is open all year round and is just a 25 minute drive.
Biking 6 trails covering over 120km of challenging forest area.
There is also an artificial ice rink, indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis, squash, fitness centre and bowling alley.
How to get there
By car 110 km from Geneva (via Lausanne) 210 km from Zurich Highway A9, exit Aigle (20 minutes from highway)
By Air Most people will arrive at Geneva airport which is 76 miles away and will take around 90 minutes by car.
By Rail from the airport: A reliable and (typically Swiss) punctual rail service is available from the airport to Villars. You will need to change at Bex for the mountain train. (Some services also require a change at Lausanne). The Journey takes about 2 hours 20 minutes. Train tickets may be ordered in advance on-line from SBB.
By Car From the airport: We recommend Hertz Car Rental for a reliable service and they offer a 'Ski Pack' for winter rentals. The journey is fairly straightforward along the motorway past Lausanne and Montreux then heading up into the mountains at Aigle through small picturesque mountain villages.

Bedroom one: Double bed with en suite bath and shower. Bedroom Two: Twin room. Bedroom Three: Bunk beds. Bathroom: Bath with shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. Bedroom Four (or self contained flat): Double bed with en suite (bath and shower). Self contained kitchenette with microwave, hob and fridge.
Lift to ground floor: Reserved underground secure parking for one vehicle in the garage. Ski room for storage of skis, poles and boots. Laundry room available at small charge.
