Chalet Balthazar Apartment 5 is a 110m2 three king/twin bedroom, three bathroom second floor penthouse apartment which benefits from vaulted wooden ceilings which lends the apartment a great sense of space. The modern open plan kitchen with granite worktops has a ‘Falcon’ Rangecooker and the latest appliances. The kitchen leads onto the living/dining area with fireplace and two balconies with tables and chairs. The three generous double/twin bedrooms (two en suite) all face south so one can appreciate the stunning views of the ‘Dents du Midi’ mountains. The bedrooms and relaxing areas have oak parquet flooring and underfloor heating throughout completes the picture. The apartment has a separate storage room on the lower ground floor and benefits from an external off street covered parking space”
Apartment 5 is fully furnished with a mix of modern and “chalet chic” furniture. If you don’t feel like venturing out onto the slopes, the living area has a large flatscreen TV with Skybox, the latest games consoles (PS3, Wii) and a sound system. Each of the bedrooms has a flatscreen TV, DVD and Ipod docking station.

Villars sur Ollon is an exclusive but discreet, family orientated dual season resort perched upon a sunny south facing plateau above the Rhone valley near Montreux. It is approx 75 minutes from Geneva by motorway and a regular train service connects Geneva airport to Bex or Aigle nearby. Villars is a secluded and relaxing mountain retreat which remains within easy reach of the rest of the world.

Situated in pole position in Villars, moments from the shops, bars and restaurants of the Rue Centrale and 50 metres from the bus/train station from where the ski train takes you up to the main ski area at Bretaye. Although in the heart of the village, Chalet Balthazar retains a quiet and discreet atmosphere.
In winter, 75 ski lifts connect 220km of slopes and a chairlift connection to the neighbouring resort of ‘Les Diablerets’ enables year-round skiing on the glacier at 3,000m. Sledging, ice-skating, Nordic skiing and snowshoe walking provide skiers and non-skiers with endless possibilities. Two respected ski schools provide expert tuition and children under 9 benefit from free ski passes. For those who like to ski in a different resort everyday, Verbier is 40 mins away, Chamonix 1h 15mins, Les Portes du Soleil (Champery, Avoriaz & Morzine) 40 mins and Gstaad 1h. Crans Montana, Saas Fee and Zermatt are further afield but not too far.
In summer, Villars’ 300km of pedestrian paths are an invitation to go for a walk or a hike through the pine woods and wild flower meadows to lakes and small alpine villages. You can also practise many different sports such as golf, tennis, swimming, rock-climbing, horse riding, mountain biking or paragliding.
How to get there
Chalet Balthazar has a fabulously convenient location in the village centre, moments from the shops, bars and restaurants of the Rue Centrale. Villars tourist office for booking ski lessons, the beginner ski slopes adjacent to the 'Villars Palace Hotel' and the train station from where the ski train takes you up to the main ski area at Bretaye are all under 3 minutes walk.
If driving to Chalet Balthazar the journey is an extremely straight forward 75 min drive from Geneva Airport or 3 hours from Zurich Airport.
If travelling by train, there is a rail service direct from Geneva Airport to Aigle (a 20 minute journey by car/taxi to the Chalet) to the next stop Bex where you can change and take the mountain train direct to Villars. The apartment is 50m from the train station.
