Home description
The ideal getaway in the superb Swiss Alpe region. Our property is situated just outside Barboleuse and near to Villars. It is only a 5 min walk to a T-bar ski lift where there is also a restaurant /bar (which is both child and dog friendly) and a ski hire shop.
The open plan living area with large windows makes the apartment feel spacious and light, and in the evenings, with the curtains drawn and the open fire lit, it becomes very cozy. With three bedrooms - 1 double, 1 small double and 1 twin room - it sleeps six without the need for sofa beds! The bathroom has both a luxuriously deep bath and a shower to help relax those muscles after a packed day of activities.
We have recently updated and redecorated the apartment which has included fitting a new kitchen (incl. new oven & hob).

The Swiss Alps / Vaud/Lake Geneva/Swiss Alps region
Villars is ideally located on the south facing slopes in the heart of the the Swiss Alps. At an altitude of 1300m it offers perfect weather for both summer and winter holidays.
With the huge variety of activities available there is something to keep everyone occupied. Mountain biking, parapenting, golf, horse-riding, swimming, water-parks, mountain walking, cross country skiing, husky dog sledging, hot air ballooning and many more!
Not to mention the "places to visit" including museums, abbeys, the underground lake, the salt mines and the "Bains de Levay" - which are spa baths perfect after a hard day on the slopes!
Villars, Switzerland / Alpes des Chaux area
Villars has remained an unspoilt beautiful Swiss village that is a joy to explore. With a perfect mix of activities and warm friendly restaurants and bars where you can just relax and enjoy the view, Villars has it all.
If you enjoy your winter sports, you'll love the 220km of marked ski runs (including the Glacier 3000). There are also two large snow-boarding parks and some good off-piste skiing (for the experienced). There are a variety of runs to suit all levels and ages and the ski/snowboard school offers private and group lessons for beginners and improvers.
The summer not only offers you an abundance of activities in the mountains, but you are a only 20-30 minutes drive from Lake Geneva where you could choose to top up your tan on the beach (shingle beaches on the Swiss side or sand beaches on the French side) or try your hand at waterskiing!
Villars is an ideal resort for families, friends and couples. Whether you are looking for a relaxing romantic break or an adventure packed holiday - there is something for everyone throughout the year.
How to get there
Flying - Geneva Airport is about a 90 minute drive from the apartment. Transfers and car hire are available from the airport or you could use the very reliable Swiss trains that would take you to Bex where you would transfer to the mountain train to Barboleuse.
Train - You can travel by train from London or Ashford all the way to Barboleuse.
Driving from Calais to the apartment takes about 8h 30min and is about 500 miles - please visit our website for detailed directions of the route we have found to be the best!

Guestbook for Aigerouse 809A
Kate Williams - February 2008 "Just to say many many thanks for the use of your lovely apartment, we have just returned from a superb week, we have had glorious weather, and plenty of skiing. We found the apartment easily, and was just what we expected lovely and warm and cosy in the evenings. We visited the Spa at Lavey Les Bains, what an experience......., why don't we have anything similar in this country?, came away from there ready to face the slopes again. The ski shop and restaurant at the top behind the apartment, were both fantastic, really helpful, and the food was fantastic. Many thanks, it was a lovely holiday."
