Home description
The house has been sympathetically restored in the traditional rural style of a typical farmhouse. The furnishings complement the style and tradition of the area.
There is parking for several vehicles at the front of the property, off the road and the front gate leads you into the swimming pool area. The house is built around the pool in an L-shape; part of it being a separate annex from the house.
In the main house, there are sufficient beds for 15, plus a cot, and the annex sleeps 5.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The area is full of history with the historic towns of Granada, Córdoba and Antequera within easy reach. We can give advice on things to do whilst you are staying at Cortijo El Prado. The beaches of the Costa del Sol are within easy reach. Why not relax and undwind in traditional comfort, in rural Spain; away from the hustle and bustle of the coast. This is an ideal base if you wish to have a taste of Spain's history; or enjoy skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains; or have day on a beach of your choice, rather than going to the same one each time! There are Spanish festivals on in each town throughout the year but mainly during the summer months, where you can sample typical Spanish culture. The festivals, (known as ferias) always offer free entertainment, paid for by the local Town Hall, normally incorporating flamenco singing and dancing; other types of traditional Spanish dancing and it is normal to have free paella and free-flowing booze on one particular day.
Villanueva De Algaidas / La Parilla area
For those of you whom are a little more energetic there are many signed walking routes nearby. We can arrange quad bike tours and birdwatching and for those lazy days visit the beach at Lake Iznajar.
Antequera has an 18 hole golf course with 10 lakes, I am told it can be challenging.
We can assure you that you will not have time to fit everything in there is that much to do.
How to get there
The area is served by many budget airlines flying into both Málaga and Granada, just 50 minutes away. Try www.skyscanner.net for the cheapest deal from your local airport. You will more than likely hire a car and we recommend www.holidayautos.co.uk.

Further details indoors: The house is centrally heated. The house has very thick walls and is cool in the summer.
Downstairs you will find the main lounge, with an open fireplace, TV (Spanish channels only) and DVD player. There is also a portable radio/CD player. The lounge is furnished with a 3 seater sofa ad 2 chairs; the dining end has dining facilities for 6 people. As with most Spanish houses, most of the living/eating occurs outside, beside the pool area, where there is a covered terrace/BBQ (with chimney) area; chairs and sun-loungers.
There are 4 bedrooms downstairs, each with a double bed; one of which has a wooden cot - see photograph.
There is a downstairs shower room, with a bidet and toilet.
The dining area leads off into the kitchen; which has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge, chest freezer, toaster, hob and table with 2 chairs.
Upstairs, you will find a toilet/wash hand basin at the top of the stairs and you walk into the first bedroom; with a double bed with hanging rail and a single bed which is in a curtained-off area. This bedroom leads into another bedroom, with 2 single beds. This leads to another bedroom, again with 2 single beds; therefore the upstairs of the main house sleeps up to 6 people.
The Annex:
From the pool area, you walk into the annex, where you will find the laundry room, with washing machine and a shower room. There is a water heater, which supplies the property with unlimited hot water.
From there you walk through into the first of 2 bedrooms. The first of which contains one single bed and one double bed.
This room leads into another bedroom, with 2 single beds and an open fireplace and a separate front door, which leads directly onto the parking area at the front of the property.
Further details outdoors: There is a shaded/covered BBQ area, BBQ, outside furniture/sun loungers around the swimming pool, which is gated off, for safety of small children/animals. There is plenty of parking at the front of the property for several vehicles.

The house on its own, without the annex can be booked: High season £2,000 per week; Low season £1,600 per week. Changeover days are flexible, by arrangement, but during high season, the minimum booking period is one week. Shorter stays are welcome outside high season.
A deposit of £200 is required at the time of booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival.
