This old barn has been converted into a spacious 2 bedroom holiday cottage, with ensuite shower rooms.Its name comes from the surrounding walnut producing area and the 2 large walnut trees overlooking the private garden, that has a BBQ and tables and chairs for eating outside

It overlooks the large shared garden and boules pitch, with views of the duck pond and woods. The 9m x 4m solar heated pool shared with the other 2 cottages (4306839 and 54850),is situated to the side of the barn with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The village of Villamblard is 2 miles and boasts a variety of shops including,a bank, post office, hairdressers, grocers, bars, butchers and bakers. Many of the local villages have weekly markets and inexpensive restaurants (some are English speaking)

There is a fridge freezer (for any extras) ironing board and iron and a washing machine available in the cabanna, next to the cottage, along with table tennis, small snooker table, bats & balls. pushbikes are available f.o.c. These are shared with the other 2 cottages

We have a wide variety of animals around, horses, donkeys, dogs, chickens and ducks that will be pleased to see you, you are very welcome to help us feed them and look after them, collect eggs etc, Any surplus eggs , vegetables and fruit, along with our home produced honey will be sold in our small farm shop

The Dordogne region

There are tennis courts available in Villamblard, and plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling, there are also several horse riding places nearby.

The Dordogne, Vezere & Isle rivers are great for canoeing, (a couple of hours or up to all day).

The Vezère Valley is a UNESCO world heritage site,this area has been inhabited by man since prehistoric times and has many interesting sites to visit, from pre- history,through the middle ages to the present day

Wine Tasting is available at various chateaux in the area.

There are a lot of medieval picturesque villages throughout the region

ThIs region is also know as 1001 chateaux , some still lived in, many dating from the 100yrs war

See some of the many caves and grottes of the area, some with underground rivers.

Supermarkets are in the local towns of Vergt and Mussidan 10 miles, about 20 min drive.

Throughout July and August many of the local villages hold marche nocturnes an ideal way to dine al-fresco when the streets are closed to traffic and the whole village joins in eating, and drinking of local produce, sometimes with inter village games , craft stalls and music
