About the home

Our ground floor corner apartment is in the quiet location of Las Violetas (block R1B) just a minutes walk from the impressive Vilamartin Plaza and all its amenities and Vilamartin golf club. The apartment has 2 bedrooms both with built in wardrobes and 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite).

There is a large comfortable lounge/ dining area with 2 sofas, dining table and 4 chairs and there is a fully fitted kitchen which includes a washing machine.

The rear balcony has the morning sun, it is furnished with a table and 4 chairs and overlooks the extensive communal gardens and pool area which includes a children's pool. A lift from outside the apartment takes you up to a communal roof top solarium with fabulous views and all day sun. The solarium can also be accessed via 3 flights of stairs.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

The World Health Organisation has described the area as one of the healthiest in the world due to the salt lakes in the vicinity. It boasts a climate where there are over 320 days of sunshine per year, with mild winters and long hot summers

The excellent motorway system connects the historical cities of Alicante, Elche, Murcia and Cartegena. The airports of Murcia (20 mins)and Alicante (45 mins) are both easily reached.

It's a region which has something for everybody. This is a paradise for golfers, gourmets, sun worshippers, party people and families.

The Villamartin / Las Violetas area

Villamartin Plaza has a large and varied selection of restaurants and bars, most venues offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There is a bus service in season from outside the Plaza down to La Zenia beach and a taxi rank opposite. The Plaza also contains many other useful facilities including a supermarket, bank, hairdresser etc.

The nearest beach is at La Zenia, which is only a five minutes drive. There are a large number of beaches in the area, all of which have 'blue flags' for cleanliness and safety and are no more than 10 - 15 minutes by car.Cabo Roig a smaller beach with limited numbers of sun beds and parasols in season, it is more secluded with a bar on the beach in season and has two nice restaurants, one in the marina and one above. This is a great beach out of season because it faces south with 75 ft cliffs behind protecting you from any breezes. It has excellent step and ramp access. Campoamor Beach is further along the coast and is one of the longest beaches in this area.

This area of the Costa Blanca is a golfers paradise with a number of top class golf courses within a short drive. Villamartin golf course, where the Mediterranean Open was played in 1994, is within walking distance of the apartment. Campoamor, Las Ramblas, La Finca and the newly opened and highly rated Las Colinas golf courses are all within 10 to 15 minutes drive.

Many attractive local towns both north and south on the Costa , as well as inland. For coastal towns , try Guardamar ( local market on Wednesdays ), Santa Pola, Torrevieja, Los Alcazares, Santiago de la Ribera to name but a few. Inland you will find the historical towns of Elche, San Miguel and Murcia.

Fly into Murcia (San Javier) or Alicante airports . Murcia airport is about a 20 minute drive away and Alicante airport is about 50 minutes both easily accessable from the motorway. There are lots of budget airlines that fly to both airports including Ryanair ,Thomsonfly ,Jet2, ,Easyjet , Bmibaby and Monarch.
Car hire can be obtained from both airports by using www.amigoautos.com or holidayautos.co.uk plus numerous others
