The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

This location is not only perfect for golfers and lovers of the seaside and blue flag beaches, it is also an ideal touring base from which to explore the whole of southern Spain. The new motorway AP7 is less than five minutes away and the main coast road, N332 around 10 minutes. The nearest airport, Murcia is just 20km away and reached directly via the AP7. Alicante airport is 40 km, or around 40 minutes on the N332 or AP7.The nearest major town is Torrevieja, still a working fishing port and marina and heart of the region’s historic sea salt industry. It also offers attractive beaches and promenades, varied and lively shops and restaurants, interesting places to visit and, reputedly, one of the world’s healthiest micro-climates.


Villamartin / Las Filapinas area

Within 5 minute drive you have 3 Golf courses Villamartin which has an abundance of olive trees and well placed bunkers to make it a challenging course for players of all abilities. Las Ramblas which is a stunning, but short course and is most challenging. High trees, natural fairways and ravines feature strongly in this memorable course. Campoamor which is situated, in two valleys with magnificent views and with a beautiful clubhouse to finish off the day.
Within 20 minute drive from this property there is La Finca Golf Course where a new clubhouse is being built to service the Spanish Open and La Marquesa,
Tee times can be booked one week in advance at Las Ramblas and 3 days in advance at Campoamor . No need to bring your clubs as you can hire them at the courses. In addition you can also hire electric buggies. The courses all have eighteen holes, putting and chipping greens and practice areas. There are also cafeteria’s/ restaurants where you can unwind with something to eat and drink after your round.

For the hard to please a 30 minute drive further south will bring you to La Manga the world famous golf resort, with three eighteen hole courses to choose from. What more can the enthusiastic golfer ask for!

Beaches

There are many high quality beaches within minutes by car. We suggest you try a few including: Playa Flamenca, La Mata, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campaomor and San Pedro. There are many, many more.

Supermarkets

As the local area has developed, an increasing number of supermarkets have become available. A large, new, local supermarket (Mercadona) opened in October 2003. This is about five minutes walk from the apartment.

Street markets

There are many street markets available in local towns in the area. They tend to be on different days. In general, the more inland you go, the cheaper prices at markets become. Here are a selection of some to try. Get there early…they close for siesta at 2pm

• Monday: Elche, Santa Pola, San Pedro del Pinatar

• Tuesday: Altea, Oriheula, Alicante, Los Alcazares

• Wednesday: Benidorm, La Mata, Guardamar, San Miguel de Salinas,

• Thursday: San Javier, Villajoyosa, Rojales, Alicante

• Friday: Torrevieja, Pilar la Horada, Los Montesinos

• Saturday: Calpe, Santa Pola, Elche, Almoradi, Playa Flamenca

Towns to visit

Torrevieja is the nearest large town. There is a lovely atmosphere there at night and you will find it very pleasant to walk around, or sit around eating or drinking in one of the promenade restaurants.

Alicante and Murcia are lovely cities and you may also like to visit Elche (the local 'date' producing town). There are many little towns and villages in the surrounding area worth visiting.

San Pedro beach is well worth a visit too. There is a wonderful walkway out into the sea, and good restaurants nearby overlooking the bay.

Restaurants and bars

Several new restaurants and bars have opened recently within walking distance. Try the pig roast at the Corral, usually on a Saturday, but you may have to book in advance. The Pitch and Pint does a lovely all day breakfast for about 5 euros. The price of food and drinks is very reasonable. Villamartin square has about 28 bars and restaurants, although the prices are slightly dearer there. Villamartin square has a lovely atmosphere, particularly at night so you will probably be happy to pay a little more. Chinese and Indian restaurants are located within minutes of the apartment.
Other commercial centres within a short taxi ride away are Playa Flamenca, Los Dolses and Cabo Roig where you will find an abundance of bars restaurants and entertainment.


How to get there

Fly to Murcia or Alicante - St James Park is just 10 and 40 minutes drive respectively from the airport.
Cheap flights available from Easyjet, jet2.com, Ryanair, flyglobespan, Monarch, Flybe, BMI Baby etc.
Reasonably priced Car hire available from www.carjet.com
There are also local taxis available.

The fully tiled kitchen comes equipped with washing machine, fridge freezer, cooker and hob, electric kettle, toaster, microwave, utensils.

In the main living area of the apartment you will find a dining table and 4 chairs plus a large dresser containing crockery, cutlery and glass for six, the lounge area is furnished with a comfortable modern sofa, UK TV/radio via cable. Quality furniture is used throughout

There is a small veranda via the lounge with seating and lovely views over pine woodland.

A rooftop solarium with sun loungers and dining which also has spectacular sea views, Large storage cupboard for suitcases etc.

There is a large, attractive and well maintained communal pool and garden.

Please note that a 50% reservation deposit is payable on booking, and the balance is payable 8 weeks before your holiday. There is also a returnable damage deposit of £100, Special discounts are negotiable for long- term rentals ( 4 weeks or more) EXCEPT in July, August and September and depending on dates and availability. Day rates are available for mini-breaks. All prices include electricity and water, Bed linen and towels provided. Please supply own beach towels.

Prices listed are per property week in addition a cleaning charge of 45 Euro per week payable locally on arrival.

Unfortunately because of some previous tenants and to maintain a very high standard of accommodation we now require a fully refundable damage deposit of £100.

Optional Airport transfers can be arranged at a cost of 40 Euro from or to Alicante Airport and 25 Euro Murcia Airport.

Optional welcome pack can be provided, (recommended for late arriving flights) consisting of drinking water, bread, milk, tea and coffee at a cost of 10 Euro.

Just to say thank you very much for the use of your apartment for our holiday. The apartment and the complex were first class but disappointed in the weather for the first few days. Part of our holiday is always going out for a meal at night and we found the places to eat were excellent. The next time we come I will definitely be hiring a car!!!!! even just to drive around the Villa Martin Area.
