A 200yr old cottage lovingly restored with original Oak beams throughout, set at the end of a long lane, only 5mins from the nearest village.Chateaux, museums and historic sites are all within easy reach, as are windsurfing, sailing, quad biking and hang gliding for the more energetic.There is a lovely lake with a sandy beach in the middle of a Pine forest, and the beautiful Alps Mancelles, renowned for walking and cycling.

The Loire Valley / Mayenne region

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Mayenne region of the Pays de Loire and only a short drive to the Alps Mancelles, an area of great beauty renowned for walking and cycling.It's an area rightly famed for its Chateaux and beautiful Cathedrals.,Medieval buildings and fortified towns, Picturesque landscapes and meandering rivers, add to this a lovely summer and what more could you wish for?

Villaines la Juhel area

The lovely cities of Alençon, with its medieval buildings, Le Mans motor museum and historic cathedral, and the beautiful Mont St Michel, are well worth a visit.There are many villages nearby with shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and weekly markets. Sillé le Guilaume is only 15mins away and has a chateau, shops and the usual bars and restaurants. Sillé is set on the edge of one of the largest Pine forests in Europe, in the middle of which is a man made lake with a lovely safe sandy beach. The activities offered here include windsurfing, sailing, canoeing and bicycle hire.A short drive to the Alps Mancelles and St Ceneri - le - Gerais, said to be the prettiest village in France, is home to artists and good restaurants. St Leonard des Bois has river walks, pony trekking, Quad biking and Hang Gliding for the more adventurous..There is a lovely castle at Lassey les Chateau, with guided tours, and a lake and a Casino at Bagnoles del Orne. St Suzanne is a fortified medieval town overlooking a gorge and has jousting on Sundays, while Les Jublains has Roman ruins, Baths and a Museum.

Ferry from Portsmouth to Caen only 2hrs away, Le Havre and St Malo 2hrs 30mins away

By Air

Flights from selected Uk airports to Tours and Dinard are within 2hrs drive. Car hire is available at the airport.

Changrover day is normally Saturday, Departures by 10am and new arrivals after 3pm to allow for cleaning

Logs for the wood burner will be charged at 5 euros per basket, the first basket being with our compliments.

Conditions

A refundable security deposit of £100 will be required on arrival.
