Home description
Our house is situated on the sunny Costa de la Luz in the delightful unspoilt village of Villablanca, right next to open fields with tranquil walks through farmland and pine covered hillsides. Explore the village and its many little side streets with shops, bars and restaurants, walk in the nearby countryside, or pass the time away in the pretty village squares sipping your ice cold drink. The communal swimming pool, just around the corner from the house, is open during the summer months - or you could simply relax on the sun loungers in the house's secluded courtyard garden.
In the evenings there are many bars to discover, each with its own character, or you might be lucky enough to witness one of the many festivals/carnivals that take place throughout the year and can last well into the night!
If you're feeling more energetic there are several world class golf courses in the area, horse riding, tennis and of course water sports are available at the nearby beaches.

The Costa de la Luz / Huelva Province region
Villablanca is situated in the western part of the Huelva Province, close to the Portuguese border. Average temperature during July/August is around 28 deg C and around16 deg C in December/January.
This aptly named "Coast of Light" is a haven for those wishing to avoid the other, more built up costas. The estuaries of two rivers help to shape the coast which has wide, clean sandy beaches and there are many areas of natural unspoilt beauty and traditional fishing villages to visit as well as some modern resorts.
Orange groves, almond trees and strawberries are all grown in abundance.
Villablanca area
Villablanca is a traditional sleepy white Spanish village surrounded by farmland, yet with all the amenities to ensure all your requirements are close at hand. The village supermarket is just around the corner together with a butcher, baker, greengrocer, banks, chemist, hairdressers and other shops supplying all your requirements. A multitude of little traditional bars and several restaurants are open during the day and evening.
The many footpaths and farm tracks around the village provide hours of peaceful picturesque walking.
Beautiful pine fringed sandy beaches and quaint villages are all in abundance within easy reach. The nearest beach at Isla Canela is a 15 minute drive from the house. On the way to Isla Canela is the popular town of Ayamonte where you can wander at leisure exploring the many shops, restaurants, cafes and daily indoor market selling fresh local produce, or visit the new plaza with its trendy shops, restaurants and cinema. From here, for a couple of euros you can take the regular ferry to Portugal, just across the River Guadiana.
For the golfing enthusiast there are many world class courses within 30 minutes drive, the nearest, at Isla Canela, being a 15 minute drive.
Seville is a 90 minute drive away and makes a great day out.
The Donana National Park, just to the West of Seville, is an area of outstanding natural beauty and well worth exploring.
About an hour's drive North of Villablanca is the picturesque village of Sanlucar de Guadiana which overlooks the Guadiana River. The journey takes you through breathtaking mountain scenery and sleepy little villages.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Faro, just a 45 minute drive away along a modern, quiet motorway. Seville is about an hour and a half away, in the opposite direction along the same motorway. Many of the popular budget airlines fly to these airports, eg Easyjet (www.easyjet.com) or Monarch (flymonarch.com) Car hire is easily obtained at the airports but is best booked via the internet before you go. Whilst it's possible to get a taxi from the airport, we would recommend hiring a car in order to explore the many beautiful little villages and gorgeous beaches in the area. We would recommend Argus Car Hire (www.arguscarhire.com) or Holiday Autos (www.holidayautos.co.uk)

Conditions
A 25% deposit is required at time of booking. The balance is payable four weeks prior to start of hire period, together with a refundable breakage deposit of £150 which will be returned to you after your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
