About the home

The Old Village is a 15 minute walk to one of Europe's larges marinas and a 20 minute walk to the beach. There is a road train which runs frequently. The complex has several bars and restaurants, an internet cafe, a tourist office where you can hire cars and bikes and book trips to the local atttractions. There is also a small supermaket which is underneath this property.

The property has been recently renovated with new bathrooms and kitchen. All the bedrooms are air conditioned and the living room has a ceiling fan. The TV has the main English channels and some sport and film channels.

The complex is a well maintained condominium with 24 hour security guards and CCTV cameras. There is a public phone, a postbox, an internet cafe, several bars and restaurants, car and bike hire facilities. The complex has three swimming pools.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Vilamoura / Vilamoura Old Village area

Vilamoura is now a very popular all year round resort.More and more people are discovering just how great the winter months can be here,with the best year round climate in europe.Vilamoura has almost anything you will need for a fantastic summer or winter break.If its golf you like then try one of the 5 championship golf courses here.Vilamoura tennis club has 10 courts for your use.We have every type of restaurant here from japanese to a fish and chip shop,and willies which is a michelin star reastaurant,most of these have outside dining through the summer .The Marina is full of designer shops,bars,restaurants with live music and watersports activites.
Vilamoura beach is 5 minute walk from the centre of the Marina and has restaurants on the beach.
A cycle path now extends around a large part of central vilamoura and its very easy to hire bikes and have them delivered to your door.Horse riding,lawn bowls and gyms and spars are also available.
Vilamouras cinema also shows all the latest films and the majority(apart from animated films) are in English.

Ryan air,easy jet and most budget and scheduled airlines fly direct in to Faro airport,which is the main airport for the whole of the Algarve.
There is a taxi rank outside Faro airport and the journey time to the Old Village is approximately 25 minutes. We can organise airport transfers for our guests if required. If hiring a car directly from the airport, we can provide driving instructions.

"My partner and I, my two children and another adult stayed in the accommodation at the end of August 2008. It has three bedroom/two bathrooms so was ample for all our needs and plenty big enough. The accommodation we stayed in was above another property so theres a staircase but also a very nice roof terrace (including a barbecue) with good views. Emma, our contact for the accommodation was also very helpful too. We found the Old Village itself very nice with several decent places to eat on campus plus a supermarket all within a short walk away. The flowers and landscaping are superb. If you want to get to the Marina in Vilamoura it is however a 15-20 minute walk (or 5 minutes in a taxi - normally freely available albeit not so freely available at peak going out/returning home times (i.e. c8pm in the evening and returning 11.30pm-12.30am ish). The Old Village has three swimming pools used by all the various accommodation, all within a short walk. Theres one small pool just down the road, a large pool nearby and a medium sized pool a little further away (Dolphin Pool). Both the medium and large pools have a small bar where you can buy snacks and drinks. At peak times all the pools were busy (but not excessively busy).

"Property was good, clean and well maintained. Owner was very helpful. Apartment was very central to all activities. Roof terrace was nice however quite a long way up a second set of stairs. All items in the apartment were provided."

"Very nice and clean duplex apartment, it's the second time we have stayed here so must be good! Since we last came 2 years ago it has also been improved e.g. now has air con in the bedrooms, all 3 bathrooms have been refurbished. Emma the owner was very friendly and helpful. Great facilities near by such as supermarket 2 mins away, big pool 5 mins away, cafes/bars 5 mins away, but is still quiet on a night and family orientated."

"We found booking the apartment very easy and the after sales service was both professional and friendly. The actual apartment was clean and well maintained. Even the BBQ on the roof terrace was clean and ready to use, the roof terrace is a great place to have a BBQ at the end of the day.
