This is an exceptionally large apartment, which will comfortably accommodate 7 adults. The lounge has two sofas, one of which converts to two single beds or a double bed if required. There is also the flexibility of an extra fold-down bed, bringing the available accommodation up to 7. The beautifully decorated lounge with its huge patio doors, leading out to the open terrace area, gives the apartment a feeling of space and airiness. The large kitchen offers all modern conveniences as well as a breakfast table and chairs. The master bedroom can be made up as a double OR twin room. It is en-suite (bath/shower) and has French doors leading onto a small balcony. The second bedroom has twin beds.
The apartment is finished to a high standard including air-con/heating. The kitchen includes a fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, hob & oven. This property boasts many EXTRAS too numerous to detail here. Contact the owner for full details. SATELLITE/SKY TV includes British/Irish channels, Sky Sports and more. The private terrace has a large shaded dining area and an open sunbathing area. There is a dining table, six chairs, two sun-loungers and patio umbrella, a sofa swing (TV can be viewed from here!) and gas barbecue. Four further sun-loungers are provided poolside. These may be moved to terrace at guests' discretion. The pool has a wide stepped entrance at the shallow end, great for children, and is set in beautifully kept gardens. There is secure underground parking with lift service. There is also above ground parking. This is a secure gated complex. Visitors must be 'buzzed in' via video entry phone located in the apartment.

Rental includes weekly clean and linen change. Midweek cleaning available at an extra charge.

Conditions
We prefer Saturday changeover in July and August. A deposit of 25% is payable on booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. We do not usually require a breakage deposit but trust that guests will make good on any major damages. (We don't worry about the minor accidents!)

The Algarve / Central Algarve region


Along narrow streets of whitewashed houses, the smell of the sea mingles with the scent of wild flowers, almonds and oranges. From rocky coastline to golden beaches, the Algarve buzzes with families and partygoers in summer, golfers in spring and birdwatchers in winter.
Leave Faro's Old Town behind to paddle in the blue lagoons of Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Take the boat from 18th-century Tavira or Vilamoura Marina for solitude on sandy out of the way beaches. Lie on golden sands at Falesia Beach or the more upmarket Praia do Garrao and pick your way among the caves, rocks and transparent waters of beautiful clean beaches. After a round of golf, enjoy the high life in cosmopolitan Vilamoura or simply enjoy a family meal and a stroll around Vilamoura Marina followed by some late night shopping.
The Vilamoura / Terracos do Pinhal area
Vilamoura, a premier resort on the magnificent Algarve coast, is famous for its bustling marina, its golden beaches and its superb golf courses, as well as its shops, bars, restaurants and casino. Nearby amenities include 'Aqualand' and 'Aqua Show' water parks, Zoo marine aquarium and Marine Park and the largest offer of facilities and activities of any resort in Portugal. Vilamoura also embraces a vast wetland area, extremely rich in plant and bird life and close to the marina is the site of an old Roman villa. Try a jeep safari or take to the high seas for sports fishing or pleasure cruises from Vilamoura. Try your hand at quad biking or scuba diving. The scuba-diving club gives 3-day beginner's lessons. Visit the weekly Peruvian market or the daily fish market in nearby Quarteira for a colourful experience! Festivals are held often during the year. Details provided on request.
Tuck into traditional fish stew ( caldeirada de peixe), steamed clams ( cataplana), grilled sardines and razor fish rice ( arroz de lingueirão). Also try spicy piri-piri chicken, fresh figs and cakes made from almonds and honey. Wash it down with cold Sagres beer or fiery medronho spirit made from wild strawberries.

Vilamoura is renowned for its world class golf courses. There are six courses within a few minutes of the apartment, some within walking distance. All are listed below along with some 'snippets' from the Golf Guide provided in the apartment. OCEANICO VICTORIA - Designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 2004. Hosted the 2005 World Cup. Most noticeable about this course are the enormous greens, one with an area of 800m. sq! OCEANICO LAGUNA - As the name suggests, this course is dotted with lakes OCEANICO MILLENNIUM - This course demonstrates the technical and aesthetic excellence which the ongoing 'Vilamoura XXI' improvement and expansion programme seeks to acheive. Four of the first nine holes are over rolling parkland, the remainder are set between umbrella pines. OCEANICO OLD COURSE - Built in 1969 to a design by Frank Pennick and re-furbished in 1997. The majestic pine trees, which are the 'trademark' of the course are, potentially its greatest challenge. OCEANICO PINHAL -Another course distinguished by fairways lined by pine trees. The first nine holes meander through an exclusive residential complex, the second nine are on more open undulating land with occasional glimpses of the sea beyond. OCEANICO VILA SOL- The first course in Portugal to be designed by English golf architect, Donald Steel, this course quickly gained international fame by twice hosting the Portuguese Open. Steel's policy has always been to protect nature and this has been continued by the owners.

My wife and I spent a month at Villa Mallon in June last year and can honestly say this apartment is one of the best anyone could wish for. On arrival, we met the lady who looks after it and she opened the garage for us to park our car in the private space, great for security. The lift is very close and one floor up brings you to the apartment. Two very good bedrooms with two very nice bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen and most comfortable lounge. Sky tv if you need it, with sports. Great terrace overlooking the pool and two sunbeds, plus more sunbeds belonging to the apartment by the pool. Gas bbq on the terrace with large patio set for dining outside. Aircon in bedrooms and lounge. Can recommend this apartment without a problem. Plus wi-fi free. Thank you Ann and Christie. |

This apartment is maintained in top condition and the owners have provided every facility one could need for a great holiday in the Algarve regardless of the season. The pool is of a good size and regularly cleaned along with the surrounding areas. The apartment building location is only a 20 to 30 minute run from Faro Airport and is situated in a quiet position in a pleasant residential area. A hire car from Faro Airport is advised to make the best of your stay and secure parking is available outside and under the building where your luggage can be wheeled directly from the car to a lift up to the apartment. We have booked to stay here five years running and consider it our preferred holiday base. |

Hi Ann, Just a few words to say how much we enjoyed our two week stay. The accommodation described in your advert was exactly he what it said, the only amendment we would add would be that it carry's the WOW FACTOR! The weather was as good as the apartment and scored 12 out of 10. We found some excellent places to eat, mainly those on the square in front of the marina. The pool was put to very good use and the furnishings both inside and outside the apartment are the best we have ever had in a holiday home. As for the sky package, that was a real bonus. We are already looking to return and it cannot come sooner. |

Ann and Christy, many thanks for providing us with a first class apartment. We enjoyed our first week so much, we, as you well know contacted you and extended our stay to nearly three weeks. No probs at all. The pool was a wee bit chilly, but refreshing, can't complain though as it was April/May and it was lovely and clean. Would love to try it in the hight of summer, should be great. We will be using your apartment in the future as it is one of the best we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in lots. Thanks again hope to speak again soon.

Hi Ann,
Thank You so much for the lovely apartment, it was exactly what we
needed. Everything was perfect, the ground floor and veranda were ideal for
our numerous swims each day. The pool was spotless and very well maintained and we had it mostly to ourselves all week which was great. The dishwasher and washing machine came in very handy too and the kitchen was lovely to work in. The kids had freshly squeezed orange juice every morning, a real novelty!! Maria was great to deal with too, thanks for the bottle of wine.
Thanks again for everything and hopefully we'll be back some day.

Just a quick email to let you know, we just had by far the loveliest holiday in your apartment. I envy you owning a place like that. You have your apartment full of all the mod cons to make a holiday a home from home. Id say we went out 2 or 3 times in our stay there. It was more pleasurable to stay in with the kids playing the play station and we just sat out on the patio after our barbecue having a bottle of wine. It was heaven!! Especially now as i sit here at home, with the rain lashing down outside, and just wish, we were still out in villamoura ( or i should be saying vistamoura). We were there for 10 days. And, it was the one holiday we would have been quiet happy to have stayed there longer, if not forever. We have been booking apartments off the net now for a good few years and yours has been so far the best ever. If we ever go back there I will definetly book from you again. Id like to know what it would be like during the end of october or the 1st week in november?

Hi Christy and Ann, We're just back from a great holiday in your apartment. I must say the huge patio was a great feature. Just as you said it's a real outdoor room. We even did as you suggested and opened the patio doors, turned the TV round and watched our favourite programmes from the sofa swing while keeping an eye on the BBQ at the same time. The only thing is I think it has spoiled us for possible apartment holidays in the future. A balcony just doesn't compare. The golf was fabulous too. Vilamoura is hard to beat for choice. Just wanted to drop you a line to say how much (again) we enjoyed our week in your beautiful apartment. We enjoyed the bottle of bubbly you kindly left us...it was much appreciated and a made our stay even more special.
We used the taxi service that you recommended in the guide and they were on time every evening at the back door and as we had taxi probs last year this was welcome.
We couldn't get over how quiet the apartment block was. There were only a couple of families staying there last week so we virtually had the run of the place.............if I ever win the lottery I know where I would buy...you are very lucky to own your own piece of heaven.
God willing we will be back next year and hope you and Christy have a good year with Vistamoura!!!!

I thought I really must drop you a line to say a big thank you as we really did enjoy staying at your apartment, all of the facilities have been very well thought out and are of a very high standard. We made good use of the gas BBQ and spent most evenings sitting on the swing, chatting and drinking wine once the children were in bed. We ate in most nights and so were very pleased with the well fitted kitchen, especially the dishwasher! We had a very enjoyable holiday and we would definitely recommend staying at your apartment, not only due to the excellent facilities, but the good communication between us regarding the access of the apartment (for my wheelchair) and arranging collection at the airport in a minibus. We would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Mallon at Vistamoura to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with all your creature comforts to hand (including the odd football game on the tv if permission is granted by the beloved!). The apartment is spacious, clean and has a great terrace that is literally a stones throw from the pool. We have two small children and it was the perfect place to spend time by the pool or eat out on the terrace in the evening. The local beach (Falesia) is fantastic with a relaxed bar/restaurant and easy access for push chairs, ideal for a relaxing drink whilst feeding the babies!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the future. Rick. (Sept. 2007)
