Praia Village is a brand new (2008) luxury development located in a quiet residential area close to the beach and famous marina in Vilamoura. Five championship golf courses are also within a five minute drive. This 2 bedroomed and 2 bathroomed - air conditioned apartment is on the top floor (2nd floor) of a complex of just 42 apartments and sleeps 4/5 people. There is lift access to all floors and secure underground parking if needed. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard and has a contemporary feel. The balcony faces south west and provides views of the sea whilst also overlooking the lovely swimming pool with children's section and beautiful gardens. The apartment has 2 bedrooms with the hydrotherapy/steam shower enclosure with built in seat providing the en-suite for the master bedroom. Both bedrooms facilitate either a superking bed or 2 Singles as the mattresses are zipped. Please just let us know of your preference on booking. Electronic personal safe in master bedroom. The main bathroom is spacious and offers a jacuzzi/whirlpool bath for your enjoyment. The modern kitchen has table and chairs and benefits from Siemens appliances - microwave, oven, hob ,fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine + kettle and toaster. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard. The lounge has a dining area for 6, two brown leather sofas, a 32" flat screen TV with selected Sky/Freeview channels, a DVD player, a stereo and a selection of games and books for your entertainment.

The Algarve region
The Algarve enjoys a mild climate most of the year, and Vilamoura in particular also enjoys gentle sea breezes so as to lessen the extent of the humidity in the very hot summer months. The Algarve offers itself up for year round holidays and provides 330 days a year of bright skies and sunshine. There is so much to see and do - from visiting the very high class world-famous marina in Vilamoura itself - to exploring the many quaint Portuguese fishing harbours and villages in the surrounding areas. If beach life is for you then check out the countless, safe, picturesque beaches and spend your days relaxing between the sand and the many beachside restaurants and beach bars. Trying some of the Portuguese speciality foods is a must! Sardines and Piri Piri Chicken doesn't taste the same anywhere else! For those with a sweet tooth the cakes and the breads are 'out of this world'.
Vilamoura / Vilamoura Marina area
The famous marina in Vilamoura has 1,000 berths and has many top class restaurants and bars and designer boutiques.Figo's bar is worth a visit to see the photos of the rich and famous! or you may be really lucky and spot the genuine article - a regular haunt for the famous and in particular well known footballers.The marina offers all sorts of activities from shark fishing and dolphin watching to leisurely cruises to view the wonderful coastline or take to the dinghies to navigate the historic caves and grottoes. Roma Golf Park (Roman style crazy golf) is located close to the apartment and is a family favourite! A tourist train (noddy train) tours Vilamoura - the Marina and the Old Village and is another favourite with the children! Quarteira the next resort to Vilamoura has a fun gypsy market every Wednesday and loule' has a bustling Saturday market - well worth a visit. Any of the numerous tour companies operating locally will provide transport at a reasonable cost. Full or half day trips to local sights and attractions or even Lisbon or Seville can be arranged. (Please see info in apartment) Vilamoura has 2 fantastic beaches - the marina beach and Falesia - both very safe and very flat, ideal for families and both have restaurant and toilet facilities. The enviromental park provides nature and bird lovers with interesting subjects. Portugal is a haven for wildlife! Vilamoura has a choice of local supermarkets with a good range of products - but the Algarve shopping centre in Guia is a must for serious shoppers! A free shuttle bus operates from Vilamoura centre in high season. Golf can be arranged at many outlets locally for all of the 5 local championship courses at special rates - to include travel and golf club hire if necessary. Vilamoura offers a variety of good nightlife and even has its own casino - if you feel lucky! - and also hosts quality shows and musical tributes.
How to get there
Praia Village is approximately a 20 minute drive from Faro airport. Car hire is not essential but may be advisable if you wish to explore the area or if you have a young family. There are several car hire companies housed at the airport but we advise pre-booking. If you need help or advice - please ask. If you want to avoid the cost of a larger hire car to transport luggage and family to the apartment then we can advise on reasonably priced transfer services to the apartment - thus allowing the hiring of a smaller car in Vilamoura if and when you need one. Local taxis are plentiful and very reasonable. There are plenty of low cost airlines servicing Faro airport and include Palmair, Thomson Fly, EasyJet., Monarch, Globespan. Jet 2 and Flybe. Road directions to Praia Village will be sent with final details.

Just a short note to say how much we really enjoyed our stay at Praia village. The apartment was fantastic- it was furnished to a really high standard and had everything we needed. The block was extremely well maintained and the gardens and pool were well kept. Some families didn't appear to venture from the poolside all week! Its central location made travelling around the Algarve really easy as its only 10 minutes by car to the motorway and a 15 minute stroll into Vilamoura. The underground parking was a benefit when having a rental car. We enjoyed our evenings round the harbour - lots of good restaurants and bars.
