The Atlantic sea is blissfully cool-welcome relief from the scorching Portuguese sun-the sand is pristine and the atmosphere laid-back. There's a string of world-class golf courses, fabulous scuba diving and the chance to visit historic Seville too.
Vilamoura / Millenium Golf area
VILAMOURA HAS IT ALL :
Excellent sports facilities, a long sandy beach, dining, shopping and certain sophistication, too. Specially built to appeal to the holiday-maker, its centre piece is a magnificent marina, complete with a buzzing water front of chic cafés, bars, boutiques and restaurants. The nightlife is lively, cosmopolitan and varied centreing around a good selection of places to eat and drink (offering a bizarre mix of fast-food joints to high class Portuguese restaurants serving fresh grilled sardines and chicken piri piri) complimented by a casino. The marina has plenty of shops including some fashionable clothes boutiques and there are ample opportunities for souvenir and handicraft shopping. Vilamoura can offer an enviable range of facilities from watersports to perhaps, most famously, GOLF! There are two main beaches, Marina and Falésia. Both have lovely golden sands but the later has better facilities,including snack bars,sunbeds and sun umbrellas.

TRANSFER TO THE APARTMENT
WE RECOMMEND OFF SETTING THE TRANSFER COSTS (approx 45 euros for 2 people return) TO THE APARTMENT BY HIRING A CAR. Away from the main resorts, you'll find hidden rocky coves perfect for hiding from the crowds or head into the villages of Loule & Silves to shop at the markets or enjoy a glass of Vinho Verde (fresh,light wine) in the shade -it's definitely worth hiring a car to enjoy Portugal to the full.
Car hire www.economycarhire.com (offer extra drivers free of charge , fully insured & the vehicle can usually be collected from the car park at Faro airport or downtown Vilamoura (if you prefer not to drive from the airport ) Carhire 3000 , give them a ring if you are looking to hire a people carrier they are negotiable on rates.
Local taxis transfer from Faro Airport to Vilamoura.
Pre booked transfer from Faro Airport to Vilamoura (we can arrange please enquire) or www.telereserva.net private hire, super prices Sunny Singh mob: +351 961 036 689 ( 1- 4 people, 21 euros & 5-8 people, 38 euros.) Or Resort hoppa.com from 14 euros per person to Vilamoura & then consider collecting a SMALL hire car there approx £100pw or having a hire car delivered direct to the apartment or use taxis to & from the apartment into Vilamoura etc. as & when required.
The journey to the apartment from Faro airport is a 30 minute easy drive along the N125, to Vilamoura,full/detailed directions provided. Car hire is recommended, however, local taxis to and from the apartment into Vilamoura are inexpensive at around 5 to 7 euros & are easily accessible.Contact telephone numbers for recommended local taxi & minibus companies are provided in the apartment info.
Bicycle hire is popular in Vilamoura and provides an ideal way to get out and about should you prefer an alternative to driving. (from approx 25 euros per week)

Also table & chairs together with a full size Weber BBQ on the east facing terrace (which catches the morning sun.) Perfect for a leisurely breakfast, sundowner and alfresco dining. Well maintained gardens & lawn surrounding a shared swimming pool and small children's pool (which is not overlooked by the apartments) and in its own private grounds with one access point making it ideal for children. There is also a large communal roof terrace. Sun loungers are provided for the sole use of our apartment guests. Private underground remote controlled parking with storage space (perfect for golf clubs & suitcases.)
DOORSTEP GOLF 7 minutes walk to Millenium and Laguna golf courses. 3- 4 minute drive to nearest supermarket & bars/restaurants at Centro Commercial Parque das Amendoeiras. A couple of these restaurants Chez Carlos Restaurant (ask to speak to Felipe, manager to arrange ) & Antonios provide free transport should you prefer leaving the car at home one evening. There is also a lively sports/karaoke bar, PARKY'S Bar & a delicatessen selling Portuguese pastries etc. 5 minute drive to beach ( Falesia) 5 minute easy drive into Vilamoura, Millenium is WITHIN EASY REACH & MORE CONVENIENT for Vilamoura than Vila Sol ! 5 -10 minute drive to Pinhal, Victoria, The Old Course & Vila Sol. 30 minute drive to over 20 other superb courses. "Golf Holiday" "Four of us stayed in this apartment in March 2008 on a golfing holiday playing courses in the Vilamoura region. The apartment was spacious well equipped and very comfortable.
