The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve located on the southern point of Portugal offers a wide variety of beautiful resorts and beaches and offers a yearly retreat to many Northern Europeans looking for that place in the sun. With a wide variety of sun-kissed beaches and golf courses the Algarve has something for everyone. From the mountains of Monchique offering wild pine forests and fantastic panoramic views to the clear blue waters of the the coastal resorts if anything your stay in the beautiful region will not be long enough to discover it all. Further east beyond Tavira you enter Spain and can visit The beautiful Spanish City of Seville which can be visited by car in just over a 2 hour drive.
The Vilamoura area
Vilamoura is a luxury beach and golf resort offering luxury apartments and villas for rental. Vilamoura´s variety of bars and restaurants overlook the luxury marina and its various yachts. Central Vilamoura offers 5 championship golf courses and a tennis center and features an area called "The Old Village" with a further selection of bars and restaurants centered around a square. Access to the marina and beaches have easy access via the tourist road train that circles Vilamoura so car hire is not essential, but is recommended to explore the Algarve further. For the children, alongside the beautiful sandy beaches Vilamoura also offers a 18 hole pitch and putt fun course and only a 6 minute drive away is Aquashow which offers a large pool with wave machine, various flumes and waterides along with a fairground area with thrill rides and snackbars. The park has lots of green area for picnics to enjoy the day. Overall the whole family will enjoy this exclusive resort.
