The Old Village is very easy to get to, as it is only 30 minutes by car or taxi from Faro airport. Although car hire and taxis are available at our reception, it is not always necessary to have a car when you stay at The Old Village, as you have a choice of three magnificent Restaurants that offer a variety of menus that cater for all members of the family. There are also several snack bars, coffee shops and a Supermarket, which is open every day of the year.
Everything in The Old Village is within easy walking distance of the apartment, including three beautiful swimming pools and a safe area for children, which are all set in charming, landscaped gardens that are fully pedestrianised, which compliments the 17th and 18th century style of its Portuguese architecture, and make it very safe for children.
The Tennis centre, which is also close to the Lawn Bowling club is only a five minute walk from The Old Village, and it takes just fifteen minutes to walk down to the Marina where there is a tantalising choice of Shops, bars and Restaurants along with with all kinds of nautical activity, as well as the Casino, a Cinema and several nightclubs. Both in the evening and during the day there is always plenty of activity going on around the Marina which is complimented by the two beautiful, blue flagged beaches you will find on either side of the Marina, providing clean, safe bathing and all kinds of watersports, with life guards on duty. There are also plenty of beach bars where you will find snacks and sandwiches, and bars and Restaurants, that serve wonderful grills with seafood and summer salads.

The Old Village offers a choice of three Magnificent Bar/Restaurants, as well as several snack bars, coffee shops and a Supermarket that is open every day from 8.00 AM - 8.00 PM & small children playground. The Old Village is only ten minutes walk from the Tennis Centre, and is only about twenty minutes walk from the Marina that is set between two beautiful, blue flagged beaches, that each have water sports facilities, Bar/Restaurants and Life guards.

The Algarve region
The southern coastal region of the Algarve is a popular tourist centre, being chosen as a holiday destination by both by foreigners and the Portuguese themselves.
With a warm mild climate throughout the year, and a coastline with wonderful beaches bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, night-life and sports make this a perfect location for the family and friends. but you can still avoid the crowds and visit picturesque fishing villages or the ranges of hills inland, with their rural way of living and wild vegetation.
Most of the towns and villages still bear the legacy of five centuries of Arabic rule, visible in their narrow streets and picturesque houses' styles, most of which present whitewashed chimneys with different shapes and geometric designs.
Although most people visit the Algarve in the summer, it is also very popular during the winter season because of its mild climate (for almost 320 days a year) and for its‘out of season’ inexpensive accommodation.
Amongst the many attractions and facilities that Vilamoura has to offer there are five 18 hole golf courses and a Golf academy with a driving range. There is a 1000 berth Marina, and a lawn bowling club with two grass rinks, a tennis centre with 14 courts and a clubhouse, a sports club, a shooting club, several night clubs, and an International Casino that stages glamorous shows, and a cinema, There is also an excellent Riding school, and a preserved Roman site with the Cerro da Vila museum providing an interesting glimpse into the Roman past of the area.
As a location specifically designed for tourism, Vilamoura has proved to be a very successful holiday destination for all ages due to the variety of facilities it provides holidaymakers.
