The Algarve / Central Algarve region

Cultural and international sports events take place in the different towns throughout all the year. Inland there are the great country views and the typical small towns cannot be missed.
Historical tours or night entertainment are all available, you choose!
The Vilamoura / Vilamoura Old Village area
The magnificent "Old Village" complex has all the facilities and services you may need. There are 3 restaurants, 4 snack-bars, a supermarket with fresh bread every day, 3 swimming pools, a children playground. From reception you can arrange for a car hire, a bike, a tour or an entrance ticket for one of the water parks, or the great Zoo Marine park.
The marina area is a walking distance (15-20 min.) from the Old Village. there are the shops, restaurants, banks, a Casino with Disco, bars with live music, medical centre and a Catholic Church. The beach is 25 min. walking distance but a taxi takes only 5 minutes. A touristic train runs around the Vilamoura area and is a great way to get around.
Quarteira is the nearest town, with daily fresh fish and a local fruit and vegetable market, a main market takes place on Wednesdays.
A Golf course is surrounding the Old Village although there are five courses to choose from in Vilamoura alone.

It was our second time in Portugal and we have chosen same location and same place to stay. It is nice, clean, area, quiet for may, but we enjoyed it. The only problem we had was no air conditioning in our apartment which was really an issue considering 36 to 39 degrees outside. Hopefully next time when we visit air conditioning will be a basic equipment in all apartments. Also sheets and towels we had changed once and only because we've asked for it, meanwhile our friend who was in different apartment had them changed twice. |
