This is the perfect location for you to start your holiday be it for rest and relaxation or packed with adventures! Explore the green valleys, old mountain trails, historical cities and towns of Ponte de Lima and Guimaraes, golf courses and white sandy beaches. The Peneda-Geres National Park is only 20 mins drive or play 18 holes at the world famous golf course near Ponte de Lima. Situated on the River Minho you have the Lenta River Beach and further along the coast are the beautiful beaches of Moledo and Afife. Or drive across the bridge to Spain where Santigo de Compostela is just 1 hours drive away.
For those with more energy the area has mountaineering, skydiving, horse-riding and bike-riding facilities as well as canoeing and rafting.

It is also a favourite town for the wealthy Portuguese to get away from it all!
On Saturdays there is large outdoor market that everyone from the region and beyond comes to see - or you can watch the eager shoppers from the comfort of the square where you will find many traditional Portuguese restaurants. If you want to explore further the town is perfectly located to visit both Portugal and Spain.
