Standing in completely enclosed grounds in the peace of the countryside, facilities include a swimming pool (10 x 5 metres) with paved sun lounge area and a huge family games room, complete with a ‘bar’ size pool table, table tennis, large screen television and much more.
You have views of the beautiful, tranquil French countryside and may spot deer strolling across the fields whilst taking your morning breakfast. There is a plethora of birdlife so twitchers, keep your binoculars handy.
The property offers plenty of activities for the whole family giving you the choice of staying "at home" or visiting the numerous sightseeing opportunities close by.

The Loire Valley / Cher region
Set in this idyllic area of rural france there are local markets, restaurants, shops and cafes to give you a real taste of traditional French life. Within the local area there are facilities for fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding, tennis, golf and canoeing.
It is said that “The Loire is a Queen and Kings have loved her”. Indeed the Loire has been the home of Kings since the 10th century. From the Middle Ages through the Renaissance, the Kings and Queens of the Loire Valley championed intellectual and artistic creation. The result is an endowment of accomplishments for all time in the arts and literature, as well as extraordinary examples of magnificent architecture and landscaping.
The climate in the Loire Valley is temperate with few extremes during summer months. Daytime temperatures generally hover in the 22 - 26°C range.
Vierzon area
Our enviable location gives guests easy access for days out to Parc Beauval, Futuroscope, Valencay, Tours, Blois, the Brenne National Parc and world famous châteaux. There are magnificent 13th-century cathedrals in Chartres and Tours, as well as abbeys and mansions and charming riverside towns and villages. Other places of outstanding interest include Orléans, famous for its associations with Jeanne d’Arc, with a beautiful cathedral, the Musée des Beaux Arts and 16th-century Hôtel de Ville; and Bourges, a 15th-century town complete with old houses, museums and the Cathedral of St-Étienne. There are many local wines to taste in Anjou, Coteaux du Layon, Saumur, Touraine, Bourgueil, Vouvray, Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre.
How to get there
Ryanair, Jet2, Flybe are some of the budget airlines which all fly into Limoges and Tours Airports.
The TGV is now operational directly from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Vierzon Railway Station and car hire is available at all the airports and the train station. Direct trains from Vierzon to Paris are available every day, all day and take 1 hour 20 minutes.
Our property, whilst in the Cher Department, is on the border of both the Loir-et-Cher and Indre departments, making sightseeing extremely accessible.

Further details indoors: The Barn is beautifully decorated with three bedrooms, sleeping up to eight with a day bed in the spacious living room.
A large kitchen/dining room (seats up to 12) is fully equipped and opens onto the sunny patio area.
The roomy bathroom has a corner bath, separate shower and double basins in a fitted unit. The WC is separate.
Washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are situated in the utility room.
A patio area and garden run along the south facing front of the barn. Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels, satellite TV, DVD, video and a small library are provided. Internet access is available.
For the more energetic a selection of bicycles is at your disposal.
For those with young children, a highchair, cot, swings and ride on toys are provided.
The largest bedroom has an interconnecting door leading into the third bedroom, allowing parents to attend to their child without leaving the comfort of their room.
Our aim is to provide you with everything you need for your stay, so all you need to bring is yourselves and some luggage.

The large swimming pool is completely secure, for the safety of young children and planted with abundant fragrant roses. The large private garden laid mainly to lawn has fruit trees and children's swings.

Further details
A nonrefundable deposit of 25% of your full rental is required to secure your booking. The balance of the rental must be paid no later than six weeks prior to your arrival. A refundable breakages deposit of €600 is payable on booking, to be refunded on departure, subject to a satisfactory property inspection.
Please note that the rental rates include all utilities. A discount of 10% will be offered on rentals of more than two weeks in Summer. Rentals are payable by banker’s cheque in Euros. Rates are listed for the whole house, regardless of the number of people.
Check in is at 4pm on the day of arrival and check out at 10am on the day of departure. We will try to accommodate you as long as it does not inconvenience other guests.
Conditions
Smokers are welcome to smoke anywhere on the property excepting inside the Barn or Games Room.
To enhance your relaxation, we offer a welcome basket containing a bottle of wine, orange juice, baguette, butter and jam. We also offer a payable grocery collection service so that upon your arrival, all you have to do is unpack your car! Your kitchen cupboards, fridge and freezer will be stocked per your order. A payable daily baguette and croissant collection is also offered.

"Our first experience of a French gite for a holiday and The Barn is well worth the visit. Recently renovated it has all you want for a self-contained holiday, spacious comfortable rooms with all the mod-cons. A beautiful pool area, games room and a large expanse of garden provide space for you to relax and enjoy the locality. Villages are just a short drive away with supermarkets, bakeries, weekly markets and the rest. The motorway is 10 minutes drive for access to the region and the roads are not busy!
