The Lower Austria/Vienna region
Vienna is renowned worldwide as the city of culture and music at the heart of Austrian life. Visit an amazing historic city with many museums, galleries, Musikverein, Konzerthaus, Vienna State Opera House & Schloß Schönbrunn. There are nice surrounding areas, for example: Wiener Wald or the romantic wine route to Gumpoldskirchen and Baden/Wien. You can also take a train to Salzburg , Linz or Bratislava.
The Vienna City area
Vienna is one of the most elegant cities in Europe, it is the perfect place to wander around the streets admiring the fantastic architecture of the Hofburg or the Opera House before stopping off at one of the many cafes offering excellent cakes. The food throughout the city is excellent, from the traditional taverns serving Wiener Schnitzel, to the restaurants offering international cuisine. There is also great shopping to be enjoyed.

We stayed in this apartment for 1 week in August 2011 and it was absolutely fantastic. The apartment had everything we needed and the owners went out of their way to make us feel at home. It was also spotlessly clean and more spacious than we anticipated from seeing the photos. There were three of us staying in the apartment and we all felt comfortable. The location was very convenient to get to Vienna town centre and all the historical sites, but at the same time it was great to come back in the evening to a relaxing and peaceful area. Hietzing underground station was only a few minutes away (past shops and the supermarket) and it invariably only took exactly 10 minutes to get to Karsplatz (town centre). The location is also within walking distance to the beautiful Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens. The apartment was even closer to Penzing station which was very convenient as it's only a 4-minute ride to Westbahnhof station where we needed to catch a train to Salzburg on the last day. Our hosts helped us with directions, train timetable and even with booking the tickets. When we had a problem with the shower hose one morning and we told Susanna (the owner), she had it fixed by the time we returned to the apartment in the evening. Lucia and Teresa (the owner's daughters) were also always at hand if we needed anything. Lucia, in particular, took great care of us and gave us directions to local Heurigen (wine taverns), restaurants and a day cruise to Bratislava! We highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Vienna.
