About the home

This one bedroom apartment with open country views is situated in a peaceful area of Victoria, but still within walking distance of all amenities and attractions. Being situated in the centre of the island, it is an ideal base to explore Gozo by car, as well as for walking or hiking holidays to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside, villages and bays.

It consists of an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with a comfortable sofa bed that easily sleeps two small children or one adult.
-the kitchen is equipped with everything needed for a holiday including, cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and washing machine/dryer.
-TV with cable TV channels in English, Italian and Maltese, a DVD player, a telephone and a small collection of books for you to enjoy.
- Free Wi-fi

The air-conditioned double bedroom has plenty of storage space, linen, towels and warm bedding and a bathroom with shower.

This apartment is located within a large townhouse but has its own separate private entrance from the main road. There is ample parking space in front of the apartment.

The Island of Gozo region

Gozo is the second largest island of the Maltese Archipelago. The climate consists of warm summers and mild winters and this makes it an ideal holiday destination at any time of the year. Gozo has a varied geology with typical flat-topped hills.

The population of this island is over 31000 people which amounts to one-twelfth of the overall population of Malta, with Gozo covering approximately one-third of the area of mainland Malta. This means that the island of Gozo is not overpopulated, and therefore greener and quite more peaceful.

Places of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Victoria and its attractions
- the Dwejra bay area including the Azure window, inland sea, fungus rock, and the Blue Hole (voted one of Europe's top 10 diving sites)
- Ta' Pinu Basilica
- Ramla Bay and Calypso Cave
- Ggantija temples: a megalithic temple complex erected during the Copper Age (c. 3,600-2,500 B.C.)
- Ta'Cenc: one of the few remaining tracts of open countryside left in the Maltese Islands. An area of outstanding scenic beauty, it is also a vital habitat for dwindling communities of rare plants and animals.
-several wonderful bays for swimming are found around the island.

Considering that Gozo has an area of 67 square kms with a length of 14 kms and width of 7 kms, all areas of Gozo are within easy walking /driving distance from it's centre-Victoria.

The Victoria, Gozo area

This apartment is a short walk to the centre of the town of Victoria which is the capital city of Gozo. Since Victoria is in the centre of the island, the location of the apartment is an ideal base to explore the surrounding island. Every beach, village or attraction is only a short drive away and due to the small size of the island, everywhere can be reached on foot for those who prefer walking. The main bus station is only a short walk up the road.


VICTORIA includes both the Citadel, the ancient city of the Island, as well as Rabat, the old suburb of the Citadel. There are many places of historical and cultural interest in Victoria and a visit to the Citadel is considered a must. From these fortifications one can enjoy a superb view of the whole Island. Within the Citadel there is the beautiful St. Mary's Cathedral and the Law Courts, as well as the Cathedral Museum, the Gozo Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, the Citadel Armoury, the Folklore Museum, the Old Prison, and the Natural Science Museum.

In Victoria there is an open market in Independence square that shares the square with several open air cafes, as well as the magnificent St.George's Basilica and other churches. A web of narrow streets around St. George's Basilica are the oldest in town and are worth a walk around. There are also all amenities in Victoria including the bus station, shops, restaurants, banks and grocery stores.

There are two major feasts in the centre of Victoria which are the feast of St. George in July and the week long celebrations of the feast of Assumption of the Virgin Mary, with the main day of festivities being on the 15th of August. These feasts are characterised by church functions, band marches in the streets, horse racing, decorations, lights and wonderful fireworks displays.

The apartment is also a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive to MARSALFORN, which is the most popular summer resort on the Island. Here there are many restaurants that cater to any taste as well as a sandy and pebbly beach and rocky platforms to swim from. From here one can also take a boat cruise around Gozo or to Comino island. There are also a diving school offering a variety of diving destinations.

Getting to Malta:
Many airlines provide service to Malta International Airport including Air Malta, British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates and budget airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Click Air, German Wings and Volare Airways etc.


How to get to Gozo:
There are several options to get to Cirkewwa harbor from Luqa airport:

• There is a public bus service to Cirkewwa. You would need to catch the bus (no 8) from the Airport to the City of Valletta, from Valletta you board another bus to the port of Cirkewwa.
• I also found this website that offers private transfers www.maltatransfer.com from 7 Euro. You might want to check it out.
• Taxi service is available 24 hours a day from Malta International Airport to any destination in Malta. Fixed rates are applicable and pre-paid tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth inside the Welcomers' Hall on Arrivals. Rate to Cirkewwa is around €32 to €34
• There are several international car rental companies that have booking offices at Malta International Airport, situated inside the Welcomers’ Hall. Please visit the Malta International Airport website for further details.

Ferry to and from Gozo:
The ferry to Gozo which departs from Cirkewwa is operated by the Gozo Channel Company - for timetable enquiries and price lists visit: www.gozochannel.com. Crossing takes around 25 minutes.

Once to get to Mgarr harbor, if you do not have your own car, we can pick you up and take you to the apartment free of charge at most times. Just let us know in advance if you require this service.

“Excellent apartment!” The owners were very nice, greeting us when we arrived! There was even a few items in the kitchen to tie us over until we could get to the grocery store. The location was excellent, being in the center and near a great supermarket! The apartment was also very clean and the wifi was exactly what I needed in order to work. We would definitely stay there again and will pass the word around!

“A bijou aparment.” A spotless bijou apartment with every modern convenience that you could ask for. 5 mins walk to a large supermarket. 2mins walk to bus stop. 10 mins walk into Victoria town centre. Absolutely lovely and helpful hosts,Dolores and Sam,just next door as an added bonus. Would not hesitate in recommending this lovely apartment, which is in a beautiful and peaceful location,.to my friends and family.

“Excellent apartment and location” My wife and I stayed for 1 week at the apartment . The apartment is very clean and has been fitted out to a high standard by the owners Dolores and Sam who live next door. Its location is excellent on the outskirts of Victoria and the view from the lounge window looks over the open fields. Parking if you have a car is excellent on the road outside. The area is very quiet but with a very good super market just a few hundred yards away. The centre of Victoria is only a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Dolores and Sam are very helpful and are happy to advise on shops / restaurants / places to go swimming etc. We had a very good week and would recommend the apartment.

“Great Appartment” The place is very well kept, close to a local supermarket and in a very quiet location! Whilst there I found everything I had back home (apart from internet access) and owners are very friendly , non intrusive and entertained all of our requirements. The place was very cool, even when the outside temperature was boiling hot! Response: Thanks for choosing to stay at our apartment and for your review. I would like to specify that although there is no computer in the apartment, there is wifi available in the apartment free of charge for those who wish to use it. Thanks again.

“Nice apartment in Victoria” This one bedroom apartment on the edge of Victoria, overlooks open countryside with vineyards and fields. It is a very pleasant place to stay in and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Buses to the centre of Victoria stop nearby and there is a good supermarket just round the corner.

“the best we could possibly find” Dolores and Sam were so kind and helpful with us, our stay was better then any expectation! Thanks to them we could even have a snack late in the night, when we arrived tired and hungry from the airport and there was nothing to buy or to eat. They offered a lot of help, they live next door so everything was super easy. Incredibly nice people and breathtaking location (especially in the morning when the sun rises)! Don't miss this apartment!!!

“Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant” What a place. The apartment is lovely. Very comfortable with everything you need and more. It is very convenient for everything you could wish to do on Gozo. It is superb value and the owners Sam and Dolores (who live next door) were so welcoming to us . There was a fantastic welcome pack and Sam picked us up from the ferry. Nothing was too much trouble for them and although we needed nothing more it was nice to know that they were close to hand. We had a fantastic week and I would thoroughly recommend, especially if you enjoy walking.

“A brilliant find in a fantastic location with lovely owners” This apartment is a great place to stay in the centre of Victoria. We were impressed by the high standard of cleanliness and the settling in groceries supplied by the owners. The owners live next door so it was really handy having them around to advise on day trips and things to do. Both Sam and Doris (the owners) looked after us very well and even provided us with a lift to various restaurants! They do go above and beyond what you would expect and truly made our stay in Victoria special. The three of us paid 315 euros in total for a week so a bargain as well as a great place to stay.

“A Perfect Holiday Stay” Our stay in this very comfortable apartment made our holiday a perfect one with nothing to wish for. We could not ask for more, very friendly and welcoming owners, comfortable setting, excellent location with country views and with all the necessities one can ever imagine. What we found was far way more than what we expected! We highly recommed this apartment to whoever is considering a lovely stay in Gozo. We would definetly be coming again in this lovely apartment. “A Little Gem” We warmly recommend this apartment to a couple who are seeking an immaculate, comfortable and well equipped holiday flat in a quiet street with a delightful rural view. Sam and Doris could not have been kinder or more welcoming. We especially appreciated being met at the ferry by Sam, and the thoughtful supply of settling-in groceries selected by Doris. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment, and look forward to returning ourselves.

“Great Apartment, perfect service, ideal for exploring all of Gozo” We could not have asked for better hosts than Dolores and Sam. From the moment we were met by Sam at the ferry in Mgarr to the moment we said goodbye at the same place a few days later, Sam could not have given better service. He is full of useful information, stories and tips! The apartment was lovely, perfect for a couple and with great kitchen facilities so good for those keen to cook the lovely produce found in Gozo. A real gem, cosy, off the beaten track and great value for money.

“DOUCE CHALEUR DE GOZO” Nous sommes revenues de deux très agréables semaines début novembre à Gozo. L'appartement est très bien (propre, pratique, spacieux, cuisine équipée) et idéalement situé. Le centre de Victoria et la gare routière sont accessibles à pied. Il suffit de se rendre à l'arrêt de bus tout près de l'appartement pour aller à la plage de Marsalforn. Un grand supermarché se trouve au coin de la rue. Sam et Dolores se sont très bien occupé de nous et nos vacances se sont déroulées de façon très harmonieuse. Une adresse à recommander en toute sincérité.
