This 200 year old converted farmhouse's main attributes are its charm, views of the imposing Citadel, its setting deep into rural Gozo and proximity to the island's main town.

Renovation works have been tastefully carried out, leaving its original old features intact, thus retaining its appeal and rustic architecture for the enjoyment and discovery by the younger generation. Property is equipped with all modern amenities for a comfortable holiday complete with free cable tv, Wifi and dvd player.

The ground floor, with its lovely arches and thick stone walls, is taken up by a living room off a dining/kitchen area, and a private pool, with shower facilities, and sundeck area at the back, from where the magnificent Citadel views can be enjoyed.

As well as two ensuite bathrooms, a double and a twin, on the 1st floor, comfortably accommodating two couples, the property has another spare twin bedroom at 2nd floor level, accessible via a spiral staircase, complete with ensuite toilet and sink only (no shower). The double master bedroom enjoys the luxury of a large bathroom with separate bath and shower facilities. A reading area at 1st floor level gives privacy for a quiet afternoon.

Importantly the property comes also with a private one car parking area. There is an Air-Condition unit in each bedroom and another one in the living room. The use is available through a electronic coin box installed in property on a pay as you go system.

The Island of Gozo region

Gozo forms part of the Maltese Archipelago and right in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. Gozo's small size is deceptive and its rich history and unique landscape catches the inexperienced traveller by surprise. Inhabited since mythical times, Gozo's retains an aura of unblemished beauty, still largely intact and accessible to all. The Islands history and past cultures are evident from its temples (thought to be the oldest standing structures in the world) and forts dotted around the countryside and along its shoreline. An old walled city dominates the centre of the island, high above its surrounding villages.

Terraced fields, bordered by miles of old rubble walls, slope down a myriad of hills and valleys, making the countryside an irresistible lure for ramblers, especially during the winter months when the island attains a green golden hue all round. Meanwhile the sea around its shores is crystal clear and the hidden rocky coves invite the snorkellers with their safe bathing almost throughout the year.

Gozo – covers an area of 67 km or 26 square miles, it is 9 miles long by 4 ½ miles wide and known as the sleepy island full of grace and charm.

Gozo's population is about 31,000 (approx). Despite its compact size, Gozo has a lot to offer. Historical places can be found in an abundance, as a visit to the Ggantija temples is a must! It is believed that these temples are older than the Pyramids of Egypt in actual fact. They date back to 3.500 years B.C !

Gozo – Other places of interest include the museum of Archaeology in Victoria, which is full of archaeological remains and pre-historic artefacts. The Citadel (Victoria 'Capital City'), the folklore museum in Gharb, Xerri's Grotto, Ninu's Cave and Calypso's Cave, which can be found in Xaghra. 'Ta Pinu' Sanctuary, where, at the turn of the century a local peasant woman had apparitions from Our Lady, is a very special and Holy Place.

Xewkija Dome dedicated to St. John the Baptist is the largest dome on Gozo, 'Ta Cenc' cliffs and Dolmens, the Azure Window, the Inland Sea and the Fungus Rock all in Dwejra, Ramla Bay one of the Maltese islands largest beaches with its unique orange coloured sand and the old part of Victoria are places to note and visit, whilst on the island of Gozo. If you're looking for a destination that offers more than just a suntan, Gozo will definitely deliver beyond your expectations!

Ghasri is a peaceful village situated on the western part of Gozo. From the Village Square, a road leads to the fabulous valley of Wied l-Ghasri which is 2.3km away from property. On the way, there is an old charming chapel dedicated to the Patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Wied l-Ghasri area is a marvellous country walk or cycling site especially in Winter and Spring. The valley ends in the sea, wedged between high cliffs where a secluded little inlet makes it ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Indeed, the sea around Wied l-Ghasri is very popular among divers.

Property is 4km from the nearest Dwejra Bay. The nearest Restaurant is 1km from property : La Stanza in Victoria. Lighthouse supermarket in Ghasri is 0.8 metres from property. The city centre Victoria is 1 km away. Here one can find Cafe's, Restaurants and a fish and vegetable market.

The sea around its shores is crystal clear and the hidden rocky coves invite the snorkellers with their safe bathing almost throughout the year.

Should you fancy a day at the beach Ramla Bay with its unique honey-red sand is the largest and most popular beach on the island and can be reached by car in 10 minutes.

The feast of Ghasri is celebrated on the first or second Sunday of the month of June and is dedicated to Corpus Christi. Victoria has two big feasts, one is on the third week of July and the other one is on the 15th of August. At this time of year you will see the village decorated and see spectacular firework displays, where village succumbs to a wonderful vibrancy.

"Perfect, rustic Gozitan Farmhouse with loads of character and sufficient outside space"

Having been to Gozo before we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed. Great location to nip in and out of Victoria however easy cutthroughs to miss the town all together if we wanted. August is festival time so plenty of fireworks and being practically under 'Vampa' they are definitely loud! Grace and Donald are exceptionally helpful and welcoming, they couldn't have done more - thank you. If I had to pick one negative the pool is slightly on the small side (it was perfectly adequate for us as we were off exploring loads anyway!) We were recommended Baron Group from friends who used them themselves again this year. If you're reading this you must go.

We would like to thank you for your stay and for taking the time to write your views about our house. However we are somewhat surprised by your comments, even since you never mentioned these issues while you staying with us on holiday. At check in, after showing you the house we clearly mentioned that should you need anything you could contact anytime by phone or email.
We think that it very clear from the photos and the house description that the views are from the terraces and not from the pool area. (Although the wall surrounding pool area is only 6 feet high so some might get views).
We will check the man hole situated in the street right away and fix it accordingly as far as we know this was never an issue to past clients so it must been damaged and we will take care of this right away.
We totally agree with your point that the pool area should have more gardening and we are already planning for next year to build more flower beds.
While we thank you again for your feedback, kindly note that we are fully committed to provide the best possible service to our guests. We hope to have the opportunity to be of service again in the future.

"Lovely place, great location."

Had everything we needed. Great kitchen, aircon in all the rooms. Spacious and well decorated. Baron were great arranging things for us to do as well. Car rental and transfers were also arranged hassle free. To be picky pool is deep but could be a bit longer. Could do with decorating the pool area to spice it up a bit. Would definitely return. Gozo is a great island!
