Villa | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 6
In the park there are three villas, one is built indside a cave with frescoes by Dorigny and was bult in 1690, another is built in front of a huge cave that is used as a cellar since first mentioned in 1330, a third villa is where I live on the first floor with my family, the second floor is for guests. Note that, as the villa leans against the hill each floor has an independent entrance from the garden.
The park is huge and was started in the XVII th century; part of the garden is monumental with statues by Orazio Marinali, another part is the romantic garden built in the XIX th century with woods and paths, a third part of the garden is now cultivated with red Pinot vines around an ancient pool full of frogs.
The country is mostly farm land with not many industries and the hills have vines, very good red wine, Cabernet is the very best. We offer you a holiday in total relax to visit the surroundings: Vicenza and the monuments by Palladio,Verona and the Arena, Venice , the Alps, all within one hour's drive , the train is also very convenient.

The North East Italy region
Costozza is a small village known as the "Pearl" of the Berici Hills, this area is famous for the huge caves that are ancient quarries that were started by the Romans and used in the age of Palladio to build many villas in the Veneto. The extension of the caves is like ten european football fields ; during the second world war Alfa Romeo had a workshop inside with 800 persons working, now there is a mushroom farm.
Our cellar is also in a cave and it is mentioned by Fazio degli Uberti in a poem dated 1330. From these caves, in the XVI th century, tunnels were dug to convey fresh air inside the beautiful villas of our village.
The area is farming land with vines on the hill side; we produce very good Cabernet.
The main interest of our region are the villas built in the country by important families of Venice or Vicenza in the XVI th century, Vicenza is the town of Palladio, the famous architect, and the famous villa La Rotonda is just a few miles north from here on the road to Vicenza. Going south to the next little village of Lumignano , that is well known for its early peas, there is the hermitage of San Cassiano built on the cliff in the VII th century.
