Home description
In the outskirts of a quaint village overlooking the Pyrenees lies Castell Rocar surrounded by fields and the village just 10 minutes walk away.
The house is unique and tastefully decorated with antique furniture in large rooms with beautiful floors and decorated walls. The house has six bedrooms, five double bedrooms all with bathrooms and a fifth room in two levels with room for four persons. This room as well has its own bathroom. There are two more bathrooms available in the house.
In the garden there is a large angled swimming pool with changing facilities and toilets in the building next to the pool area. There are of course sun beds, so you can enjoy the warm summer Catalan relaxing way. In the nearby fields, you can feed the cute donkeys.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
Vic is the capital of the region of Osona, Barcelona, is located on the banks of the Meder river, in the vicinity of the impressive Sau reservoir. It is small town (70.000 inhabitants) and is situated on the plain that carries its name. Plane del Vic.

Market in Vic The town Vic with its charming old quarter is worth a visit. On Tuesdays and Saturdays you will find a large popular and lively market on Placa Major. Another option is to enjoy the delicious cuisine or to take a guided tour through the historical quarter. On the central square you will find many shops and café terraces. The square is always full of genuine Catalan rural atmosphere.
In Vic you can enjoy: Museu Episcopal, which displays a rich collection of Romanesque art. The Gallery Sala del Romanico has a outstanding group of alter fonts and The Gothic Gallerie Salas del Gotico`s collection of alter pieces are also impressive. All 3 galleries are given 3 stars (highly recommended) by Guide Michelin.
La Plana de Vic is all surrounded by mountains: in the north the mountains of Comarca (administrative area corresponding to the English county) of Ripollès and Comarca of Garrotxa, in the east the mountainous area of Les Guilleries, in the southeast the Massif of Montseny, in the west the mountainous areas of Moianès and Lluçanès, and it remains closed by a circle of mountainous systems that draws the heights of its outline: the mountains of Bellmunt, Collsacabra, Guilleries, Matagalls, Tagamanent, the Bertí's Crags, Collsuspina, Gurb, El Grau and Orís, and the Pyrenean spurs of Montesquiu and Besora.

How to get there
It is advised to bring a car. You can either rent one in the airport or drive from home. Some take the autotrain to Narbonne and drive from there.

Further details indoors: As the house is 900m2 big, there are several halls and a library. Outside, the huge garden is beautifully kept, and the large pool area with a covered terrace with barbecue is a natural place to spend a lot of the stay.
The house has several large rooms, one used as sitting room with sofas TV and DVD, another which is a dining room with a long and very beautiful dining table. At first floor there is a small library equipped with a computer with Internet access. Additionally, the entire house has WIFI internet. Furthermore, there is a larger library of an ancient library and also can be used as reading rooms or to play board games. At first floor there is a large terrace overlooking the countryside.
At the ground floor there is another large room which can be rented for festive occasions. Hall is actually a hall decorated with a deer from a hunt and the owner arranges still hunting (this requires a hunting license). The adjacent room with beautiful curves fitted with a long dining table. There is direct access to the garden.
Further details outdoors: For the kids it is fun to feed the donkeys and horses on the nearby field. It is also nice that it is possible to walk to the village as well as make some walks in the area. The house is also a very nice point of departure for bicycling.
In the nearby village are two local restaurants and a small supermarket. Furthermore, there is a big café and bakery, which offers a selection of gourmet products, bread and cakes. The shop is famous throughout Catalonia, and is visited in weekend by people come from all over Catalonia.

The price includes: Taxes and VAT, electricity, heating, water, bed-linen, towels and cleaning at departure.
When booking the property, a deposit equal to 40% must be paid within 8 days to secure the booking. The remaining amount is to be paid to the property-owner when you arrive. By cancellation more than 2 months before arrival, half of the deposit will be refunded. By cancellation less than 2 months before arrival, the deposit is not refunded.
By rental of this house, an additional deposit is paid by arrival and refunded by departure, if the house is left in same condition as by arrival.
