You even have a river sand beach, very close to the estate, or not far from Quinta da Lage, some of the most famous Atlantic beaches in northern Portugal. In this area you have the beautiful old towns of Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Caminha, Valenca, Braga, Porto (Oporto), Guimaraes and the border region of Galicia in Spain. Quinta da Lage new house was formally used for agriculture, and has been converted to a large living room with glass windows and doors looking out with uninterrupted views over the 7 hectares of agricultural land and vineyards, whose grapes go for the production of the famous wine of the region, Vinho Verde.

The main entrance to the house is from a 'quinteiro', where stone steps lead to the first floor to the rooms hall with a sitting area and a salamander stove for cooler nights in winter.

Stairs lead down to the old kitchen which has a traditional fireplace originally intended for cooking over an open fire with the sausages and hams being smoked in the large chimney. For modern living there is a barbecue which can either be used in the chimney or taken outside.

The large light living room has a dining area with a table and 12 chairs. The sitting area is at one end of the room around an open fireplace with a heat recuperator, where there is also satellite television and music center with cd/dvd. This delightful villa is ideal for families or groups as it's fully equipped with kitchens, ensuite bathrooms etc.. private swimming pool and grounds in which to relax and unwind in the summer sun with the cool afternoon wind, making air conditioning unnecessary.

The house is best for 6 adults and 2 youngsters. The rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator, as it's a traditional farm style house. Dogs and Cats can play and stay outside. Inside the house is forbidden to have pets, according to the rulings of the Tourism Office.
