The Veneto region
Veneto is a region full of history and tradition, great also for local food and wine production. Many interesting sites to be visited are Venice, Verona, Vicenza, Padova, the Lake Garda. You will find countryside, mountains and seaside, lakes and sea beaches.
Verona is one of the main tourist destinations in north-eastern Italy, thanks to its artistic heritage, several worldwide-known annual fairs (like Vinitaly, Fieracavalli, Marmomacc and many others), shows and operas, such as the Opera Festival in the Arena, the ancient amphitheatre built by the Romans.
Because of the value and importance of its many historical buildings, mostly of Roman and Medieval ages, Verona has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Moreover, Verona is the setting of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
Verona's Natural history museum contains one of the most valuable collections of fossils and archaeological remains of Europe. Castelvecchio Museum features a collection of sculptures, statues and paintings in a magnificent castle built in 1354-1356.

"All around - a fantastic stay!"
We were 13 family members, ranging in ages from 1-70+ and the Villa Sogara provided us all with a truly wonderful week. It is spacious in every way, beautifully furnished, and offers not only the comfortable veranda (where we dined most evenings) but also a lovely spot under a large tree, overlooking the grounds, which most of us used in the mornings and late afternoons and evenings. We all slept very comfortably; a particular advantage were the individual air conditioning units which were very effective and easy to use. The pool (nicely fenced in with lock), laundry facilities and regular cleaning woman were things we greatly appreciated. The property has a rich and long history, so one of the main advantages of staying there for us was to enjoy its architecture and the property in general. Thommaso and Ella were also a bonus, as they were nearby on the property, but never 'in the way'. They were also very friendly and helpful with tips and advice regarding day trips and the specific questions we had regarding the area. Finally, we thoroughly enjoyed our arrangement to have many of our dinners prepared for us to enjoy at the Villa. With young children and a large group of people, this turned out to be a perfect solution for us, and the meals were outstanding!
