Inside, Maison 'Oman' has nicely decorated stonewalls. Upstairs there is a well-equipped, new Catalan kitchen (style Louis XII), a Catalan dining alcove and a sitting room with an open fireplace, stereo-radio, CD-player, satellite television (ASTRA) and WiFi Internet connexion. Downstairs you will find a bathroom with bidet and two separate bedrooms; the latter with exits to a small patio (sun-garden).

Behind house OMAN, you are suddenly in the 'Pyrénées Catalanes' - one of Europe's largest nature parks. This provides an option for trekking under excellent conditions. Downtown Vernet-les-Bains (3 min. walk) restaurants, bars, hotels, all commercials and a genuine French market welcome you.

Vernet-les-Bains and the beautiful routes around the village in the surrounding Pyrenees are awarded in the 'Guide Michelin'. In addition, the village offers various sports and recreation facilities. The Languedoc-Roussillon region

Dear guest,

Like many people from across the world you may have tried to be drawn to the epic mountain scenery of the French Pyrenees? Anyway, do you know that in recent years, increased leisure time coupled with the desire for a healthier lifestyle have fuelled an explosion in demand for activity holidays for all age groups in the mountains? Well, going south to the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees reveal their two distinct features: their mountains and pastoral aspects. In natural surroundings, both peaceful and discreet, your roads can lead you to two extraordinary denouements: The 43rd Regional Nature Park of France named 'Pyrénée Catalanes', with the majestic Mont Canigou (2785 m.), and the medieval village Vernet-les-Bains (Station Climatérique), where our small and charming stone house named 'Maison OMAN' is located, just at the foothills of the Canigou massif (650 m. alt.). The Pyrenees hug the border with Spain and Andorra, taking in the ancient 'Roûte des Crêtes' amid the kind of scenery you'll never forget, bringing you closer to your image of a true mountain paradise! Welcome to embrace real wellness.

Vernet les Bains

Due to its outstanding healthy microclimate with 300 days of sunshine per year, Rudyard Kipling named the village “the Paradise of the Pyrenees”. Here you will find peace and tranquility in a cleaner, healthier environment with plenty of space to go your own way. And when things are just too hot and sticky on the Mediterranean beaches, mountain air is cooler and fresher, so you will sleep soundly without the whirr of the air-conditioner?. The remote locations are hauntingly beautiful, as is the endless succession of high passes and secret valleys, each with its own distinctive character. In the many historical villages you will also find on-site services such as thermal baths, heated swimming pools, fitness services and spas and beauty treatment. For more and more people the prospect of a swim, spa or massage after a day's walking or cycling is an appealing one. The Pyrenees sit between two exceptionally sunny coastlines, and if you base yourself in Vernet-les-Bains and our house, being within a short driving distance of the Mediterranean sea, you can enjoy both mountains and beach as the mood takes you ? In the mountains you will meet genuine hospitality and you can dine in real style – or simply select your choice of fresh local produce and head for the ultimate scenic picnic spot. No wonder more and more people are developing a taste for the mountains. In Vernet-les-Bains restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and a genuine French market welcome you. Vernet-les-Bains and the beautiful routes around the village are awarded in the 'Guide Michelin'. In addition, the village offers various sports and recreation facilities, including in- and outdoor swimming pools with clean, hot water from the surrounding natural hot springs. Finally, the famous thermal bath and the nearby fashionable casino should not be forgotten.

In years past, Vernet-les-Bains was noted for its spas. It was the “in” place to go for arthritic cures. For a great number of years, France subsidized the spas as a health treatment. In that day, Vernet-les-Bains was a thriving community. Many famous names came there for treatment and seduced

writers, such as Rudyard Kipling and Danish Hans Christian Andersen. Nowadays these cures (e.g. bronco-pulmonary and rheumatic affections) at the thermal bath are partly subsidized by the French Social Security system.

Vernet-les-Bains is just a wonderful quaint village, where you will feel at home due to storekeepers, restauranteurs and people's friendliness.
