Home description
Located on the edge of a pretty village with all amenities and an 11th century church, the apartment is suitable for a couple wanting to visit the chateaux of the Loire Valley, near Saumur, Angers and Tours, near the vineyards of Bourgeuil, Chinon and Saumur in a relaxing setting. Horseriding, walking, fishing or simply just relaxing.
Saumur is the home of the Cadre Noir Cavalry Regiment and the National Riding School of France, so that in addition to the many cultural events, there are many equestrian events. The nearest public swimming pools are at Noyant and Le Lude.

The Loire Valley / Maine-et-Loire region
The Loire Valley, also known as the Garden of France, boasts a micro-climate which gives us warm summers and generally mild winters. The Kings of France built their châteax here, so they obviously knew a thing or two! Chateaux visits are a must when you come to the area, so too are the vineyards for wine-tasting and if you enjoy the wines why not take some local ones home as a reminder of a great holiday.
Vernantes / Mouliherne area
The area is eminently suitable for cycling, walking, horse riding, fishing and just generally "chilling out". Golfers please note we have many excellent golf courses, one of the best is located 13 km from the house. We are about 1.5 hours drive from Futuroscope at Poitiers, two hours drive from the wonderful beach of La Baule, an easy drive with good autoroute links. Visit Tours with its wonderful old town and of course good shopping, or Angers with its Chateau and incredible Tapestry of the Apocalypse.
The village itself has a baker, butcher, two bars one of which does meals, and a separate little restaurant. There are several brocantes and "Vide-greniers" held throughout the year in the village and in others around.
How to get there
The property is very easy to reach by ferry, the nearest ferry port is Caen (3 hours away), or Le Havre 3.15 hours), Cherbourg (4 hours) and St Malo (3 hours). It is a five hour drive from the Tunnel at Calais. Access to the autoroute is 15 kms away from the property. The property is also served by cheap flights daily to Tours from London Stansted by Ryanair. There are car hire facilities at Tours Airport which can be reserved on line when booking flights. It is only 45 minutes from Tours to the apartment.

Further details indoors: With an access by an exterior staircase the apartment is completely self-contained, and has a large lounge with lovely views, a well fitted kitchen/diner, a large shower room with WC and washbasin, and a large double bedroom. Full laundry facilities are available.
A welcome pack is supplied within the price, and includes a bottle of local wine!
The property is also available on a daily B & B basis.
Further details outdoors: There is a private terrace with a canopy cover and seating for six persons, a barbecue and sun loungers. Plenty of parking.
There are also excellent golf courses nearby one of the best being at Baugé which is 13 km from the apartment.

We have a strict no smoking policy in the apartment.
A breakages deposit of £100 is payable with your final booking payment, and this will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection)
25% of the total is due on booking, with the balance 8 weeks before your holiday date.
