The Loire Valley region

La Loire is the longest river in France and meanders through some stunning countryside. Situated midway between Angers and Tours (both around 1 hour away) our cottage is in a small hamlet within a rural setting somewhere you can have the best of both worlds. Le Mans is around 1.5 hours north if you want to see where the famous races are run.

Closer are the lakes, which often get called beaches, for bathing, walking or just chilling out. At Rille there is a short railway which runs steam at certain times.

Lots of places to enjoy fine food and wines or sit outside one of the numerous cafe's and watch the world go by

Le Pelican restaurant in Vernantes is certainly worth a visit, lovely food, nice atmosphere and they speak English if you need or wish it.

Horse riding, tennis courts, cycling, walking are just some of the activities here.
