Chalet Charbray - La Tzoumaz
Chalet | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 10
Chalet Charbray was completed in 2012 in the family-oriented resort of La Tzoumaz in the heart of the 4 Vallées in Switzerland. This two-story, 250 m2 chalet with a mezzanine, large balconies and terrace has stunning views of the alps, and its privileged position next to a forest provides absolute tranquility and privacy. During the winter ski season, Chalet Charbray is a few minutes' drive from the La Tzoumaz ski lift which is part of the world renowned Verbier ski area. In the summer months, beautiful hiking and mountain biking trails are at your fingertips.
The chalet has 4 bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 10 people. Two bedrooms have luxuriously appointed en suite bathrooms, one room has 2 bunk beds (for a total of 4 people), and the last guest room has a double bed which can be made up as one or as two beds. The bunk bed room and last guest room share a large, well-appointed full bathroom. Direct access to the terrace - and HotSprings Spa hot tub for 5 people - is possible through two of the bedrooms. A sauna with its own separate shower awaits sports and relaxation enthusiasts alike.
In the middle of the spacious living and dining room area is a 3-sided glass-protected fireplace which provides an elegant yet cosy ambiance. Large (3-meter/9-foot long) windows and sliding glass doors open onto the wrap-around balcony, providing stunning views from any vantage point. The charming mezzanine with an additional reading, seating and television-viewing area overlooks the living and dining room area and offers a gorgeous view of its own.
The state-of-the-art, fully stocked kitchen overlooks the dining room area, separated by a glass and wood bar with seating. Double refrigerators, two full-size Zug ovens, plate-warming drawer, 5-plate Siemens induction cooking surface and Zug dishwasher make cooking for 10 a pleasure.
The chalet has Wifi, 3 televisions, a ski storage room (with 3 toboggans for your use), washer (10 kg/22 lbs), dryer (8 kg/17.6 lbs), and plenty of cupboards and storage space for your clothes and luggage. We recommend that you arrive by car. Access to the chalet is just a few steps from the private parking spots, for easy loading and unloading of people, luggage and equipment.

The Swiss Alps region
Also known as Mayens-de-Riddes, La Tzoumaz is part of the famous 4 Vallées region in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, and is directly linked to Verbier with telecabins that are operational throughout the year.
The 4 Vallées are a great destination in the winter and summer alike. In the winter, there are 410 kilometers/256 miles of ski/snowboard runs, 55km/34 miles of which are in the La Tzoumaz-Savoleyres sector. La Tzoumaz boasts the longest toboggan run in western Switzerland - 10km/6 miles - which starts at the Savoleyres summit (2354m above sea level) and ends in the village of La Tzoumaz. 3.5 kilometers/8.4 miles of prepared showshoe trails complete the winter paradise offering.
In the summer, there are beautiful hiking and mountain biking trails throughout the region. At any time of the year, thermal baths are about a half-hour drive away, both in Saillon and Lavey-les-Bains. With 300 days of sunshine per year, the Valais is the sunniest spot in Switzerland. The region is known for its fine wines, both white and red, as well as its culinary specialities like dried meats, cheese fondues, and raclette.
La Tzoumaz is a family-oriented resort. The small village has a well-stocked grocery store (Proxi) open 7 days a week, several restaurants/bars, an indoor swimming pool, tennis court (summer only), and several sporting goods stores with rentals of all sorts of equipment. For more shopping choice, a large shopping area is located in Conthey (one exit from Riddes) and includes Coop and Migros supermarkets, Media Markt, Interdiscount, Athleticum, Lidl and many, many more stores. For a large selection of excellent sausages, dried meats and over 280 cheeses, including fondue and raclette cheeses, we recommend La Fromagerie La Grenette (www.la-grenette.ch) on the route Cantonale 28 in Conthey. Or, if you wish, one of the local restaurants in La Tzoumaz, Le Pistard, will cater meals for you (www.lepistard.ch - scroll down for English.)
