The North West Italy region

Lake Maggiore is the most westerly of the 3 great alpine lakes of Italy. It extends from Locarno in Switzerland to Arona. San Bernadino is a lovely little hamlet overlooking Lake Maggoire. It has an elevated position and gives extended views across the lake. The area has a micro climate with a lovely temperature throughout spring and summer. The area is lush with famous gardens and exotic plants. Winter can be lovely during the day but cold at nights. The area provides a lovely balance between tranquility and action packed break with lots of sporting activities nearby.

Locarno and Stresa are host to music and opera festivals throughout the year which attract lots of big names
