Home description

3 bedroomed apartment, finished and furnished to a very high standard. Located on the golf resort the large roof terrace allows views overlooking the 4th hole and 5th tee. Air conditioned and fully equipped the apartment also offers Sky TV including sports and movie channels. The Aloe complex has three communal pools, one of which is a jacuzzi.
Mojacar Playa and Garrucha are just 7 km away and offer wide white beaches and plenty of restaurants and nightlife. Just inland is the Sierra Nevada which includes 'Mini-hollywood' among its attractions. Granada and Almeria are within easy reach for families hoping to explore the 'real' Spain.
For the golfer the Valle del este course offers a real challenge (discounted green fees available), as does the nearby Desert Springs course. Within an hours drive there are a multitude of other courses including the La Manga complex.

The Costa de Almeria region

Garrucha - This is a thriving port town with a large fishing fleet. In mid-afternoon when the fleet lands its catch the quayside auction is well worth watching. An evening visit to one the many excellent seafood restaurants that line the seafront is a treat too.
 
Mojacar - Mojacar is split between the hilltop village Mojacar Pueblo and the beachfront Mojacar Playa. Mojacar Pueblo is perched on a rocky outcrop and can be seen from a long distance as the houses are painted a brilliant white. The village has narrow, windy streets, but is a joy to walk. The restaurants of Mojacar Peublo tend to be expensive compared to those of the Playa and Garrucha. It is best to enjoy a drink in one of the tapas bars and eat elsewhere. Mojacar Playa is an excellent beachfront. It winds along the coast for over 5 km and has many bars and restaurants. The excellent beach has many ‘beach clubs’ that will allow visitors the opportunity to retreat out of the sun for a snack or drink. At night life is lively and it is well worth exploring what is on offer.
 
Villaricos - Travelling north from Vera brings you to the small port of Villaricos. For those who prefer the quiet coves and beaches of an undeveloped coastline this is the place for you.
 
Turre - This small town is off the tourist track and has a refreshing ‘Spanishness’. As with most towns there are a collection of good value tapas bars.The local ‘Go-cart’ circuit is on the road to Turre and offers very good value compared to UK tracks.
 
Mini Hollywood - At one time they were making more westerns here than in the USA. Mini Hollywood is one of three theme parks dedicated to the film industry in the area. It was the location for films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Dr Zhivago and the Clint Eastwood classics A Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. There are daily shows at noon, 5pm and 8pm. Entry is usually around €16 to €20. The other theme parks are cheaper, but not as good.
 
Almeria - Although it is 45 to 50 minutes drive Almeria does have some splendid Moorish architecture and an interesting and more modern, cathedral.The dominant feature of the town is the Alcazaba fortress, built in the tenth century by the Moors. Visiting the Alcazaba is free to EU passport holders between October and March, otherwise it is just €1.50. Note it is closed on Mondays.
 
Granada - Granada has one of the most dramatic locations in Spain, poised below the backdrop of the snowcapped peaks of the Sierra Nevada. The cities most striking feature is the near-perfect Alhambra Palace. Granada has even more charms than the palace and is well worth a trip even though it is just over 200km from Vera. The journey takes about two hours if driving via Almeria, but a more spectacular route can be taken through the mountains to the north of Vera.


Vera / Valle Del Este Golf Resort area

Despite being located on a golf resort the area provides an exceptional range of activities for the family. These include:
 
Bowling, cycling, diving, fishing, go-karting, golf, horse riding, hiking, padel courts, paragliding, sailing, skiing, swimming, tennis, walking, water skiing and wind surfing.

Beaches
 
For those who enjoy beach holidays there are uncrowded white sand beaches and an excellent beach club that is for the exclusive use of Valle del Este residents located just 10 minutes from the apartment. The beaches have lifeguards, and are maintained to a high standard with regularly placed fresh water showers provided. There are frequent play areas provided for younger children.
 
Vera - The town of Vera has a long history. It was, for a while, the border between Christian and Moorish Spain. The town is packed with traditional shops and restaurants and discovering them down the narrow streets is one of the town’s delights. The town has many fiestas, including a February carnival. However it is also well known for its bullring. Although this is not an entertainment to everyone’s taste it is a magnificent arena.


How to get there

The apartment is located on the Valle del Este Golf resort in Vera.
The A7 (junction 529) is just 1km from the resort and there is easy access from Almeria airport (40 mins).
Murcia airport (1 hour) and Alicante airport (1 hour 30 mins).
Almeria is served by daily services from the UK including bmi and easyjet flights.
Murcia is similarly well served and Alicante enjoys an even better service that includes BA as wel as the budget airlines.
Car hire is very reasonably prices and www.travelsupermarket.com offers the best comparative price service.

The property was completed in April 2007 and was furnished and equipped to the highest standards. All appliances are brand new. All rooms are hot/cold airconditioned.
The open kitchen has a large marble breakfast bar with stools and is fully equipped.
The open plan lounge/diner has a dining table that can seat up to eight.
The large screen TV/DVD is connected to the local communal system and Sky. The Sky package includes Sky movies and Sky Sports (including Premiership plus).
The master bedroom has a double bed and en suite bathroom. The two other bedrooms have twin beds.
The lounge has a double sofa-bed which is intended to allow a 'flexible 6' arrangement, but does mean up to eight people can be accommodated if desired.
There is a large patio windo openeing on to a balcolny which overlooks the 5th tee and lake.
Sun loungers and beach furniture is provided for use in or out of the apartment.
Two sets of (right handed) golf clubs are available for use by occassional golfers.
Phone chargers and UK plug adaptors are provided.
The apartment is tiled throughout with distinctive grey and black marble.
There is a large utility.drting room with a drying rack making washing easy and quick.
The apartment has an underground parking space beneath the building.
There is a lift from the car park to all fllors.
The car park is protected by a security system. There is a large storage room attached to the car parking space for golf clubs and the storage of other items not needed on a daily basis.

A spiral staircase leads to the roof terrace.
The apartment is the top floor of three and overlooks the 4th green and fairway and the 5th tee and fairway which is lined by a ribbon lake.
The apartment is not overlooked by any other in the complex.
There is a BBQ and large table and chairs with a sun umberella to allow al fresco dining.
There are three pools within the complex. One of thses is a jacuzzi.
The golf resort also offers excellent gym and spa facilities, a large pool and several bars and restaurants within 250 metres.

Cheques or bank transfers are acceptable.
£100 refundable damages deposit required with balance.
The lifts from the car park should make wheel chair access possible but to date no one has tested this proposition.
