The unique PGA championship course 18 hole PGA course, 6260 yards, par71 with driving range 270 meters long, 100 meters wide.
The course has been carefully designed by José Canales to perfectly integrate into the surrounding landscape. The round of golf is challenging and impressive. The tees are small platforms encircled by volcanic rock. The greens are extensive and generous.
Other top golf courses including Desert Springs and Marina Golf that are both within 15 mins drive.

The Costa de Almeria region
Having one of the warmest and driest climates in Europe, the location is ideal to suit everybody. In addition to superb golf, this undiscovered area offers wonderful beaches and is steeped in Spanish history and culture.
The Costa Almeria is as varied as any of the Spanish Coasts. The coast is completely unspoilt. To the east of Almeria we find the rugged and desolate coast of the Cabo de Gata - Nijar natural park. The natural park is very nearby and is well worth visiting, its a protected area with high ecological value, due to its flora and fauna.
This is an arid desert landscape and the annual rainfall here is less than 200mm. It is sparsely populated, few villages and a very low population density. Visitors feel a sense of exploration here as many of the coves can only be reached on foot. This area is particularly popular with nature lovers and back-packers. The most popular coastal village is San José.
West of Almeria is the highly developed tourist resorts of Roquetas de Mar and Aguadulce. These have all the facilities of any modern resort to support the package holiday market.
At the north of the Costa de Almeria is the naturist beaches of Vera, a number of new complexes are being constructed here. A little further south is Mojacar which successfully combines the popular beach holiday with the hillside white village that tourist love to explore.
Almeria city is worth a visit with the Alcazaba castle overlooking the metropolis.
To the west we find the developing complex of Almerimar with Marinas, golf, hotels and many other facilities.
The old fishing port town of Adra lies further west. In spite of the interesting castle and assorted archeological remains, it is often missed by tourists travelling along the coastal motorway to or from the Costa Tropical.
The Vera / Valle Del Este Golf Resort area
=== Vera ===
Up until recently Vera has been reasonably undiscovered mainly because the budget airlines were not flying to the Costa Almeria. Now that they are tourism is booming.
Vera is a historical picturesque Spanish town, with many interesting historical buildings to visit. It has a fine array of shops and is renowned for its cuisine, from simple tapas to up-market restaurants, Vera is a great place to eat out. Each Saturday morning from 9-2pm there is a market selling local produce in the main street of Vera, it has a great atmosphere and good quality items for sale.
The beach in Vera is the main naturalist (nudist) beach in this region of Spain. It is supported by many of the local hotels, and camping parks.
There is a water park in Vera called Park Aquatico, it is open from May till September, and well worth going on a hot Spanish day.
The Vera bull ring is a historical bull fighting ring, that has been reconstructed in keeping with the old style. There are still bull fights here today. There is also a museum on bull fighting.
Sights close to Vera:
* Astronomical Centre - in Gergal, Sierra de los Filabres, you will find a astronomical centre where you will find the worlds most powerful telescope, with the year round clear skies there is much to see.
* Troglodyte Villages - there are many troglodyte villages worth visiting because their homes are caves dug out of the cliffs. The village of Sante Fe de Modujar is well recommended.
* Mini Hollywood - a wild west town recreated with shows, cowboys, a museum, restaurants, a zoo with an array of animals, and a playground for the children.
* Texas Hollywood - film studio, and theme park, this is where a Fistful of Dollars was filmed. There also live performances and a bar, and restaurant.

The Valle del Este Club del Playa offers a stylish bar and restaurant. You can enjoy a pre-dinner drink on the expansive terraces overlooking the swimming pool, while taking in the sun with your favourite beverage.
Then spoil yourself in the stylish restaurant with a choice of international dishes to suit every taste. Take an after dinner stroll along the beach, or retire to the English styled pub for a night cap.
For the more adventurous, the Club del Playa hosts a sailing school which offers a range of water sports activities. Valle del Este Club del Playa is open to the general public (hours are seasonal).

Really well appointed apartment. All mod cons. The balcony area is a real treat, overlooking an elevated tee on the superb golf course. Many happy moments sipping wine laughing at wayward golfers! The surrounding gardens and pool areas are 1st class, beautifully kept and very pretty. A car is a must as the beaches are not within walking distance. There are fantastic beaches all around and discovering different ones a joy. There are directions/tips in literature in the apartment which are really helpful for best beaches and days out. We loved the old village of Mojacar and the beaches at San Juan and San Jose. The golf course is brilliant. The bars and restaurants near the hotel and golf complex are very good. The pub on the complex was excellent and showed all major sports events,next time we go I'll try the pub's Sunday golf society (20 Euros) for 9 holes, looked great fun. This was our 2nd stay and we will be back. Loved it!!! |
