This penthouse apartment is fully equipped to a high standard to help you enjoy a fantastic self catering vacation. The complex is very spacious and has two large communal heated pools, having separate childrens pools. There is a children's playground and throughout the complex there are well maintained mature gardens, ample seating (wooden benches) and well light communal areas - making this a great location for both families and couples.
If you stay at our apartment you can be assured that you don't need to bring ANYTHING except clothes and beach towels - we have equipped the apartment with all those extras that normally fill your suitcase, e.g. hairdryer, iron, coat hangers, shopping bag, area map, DVDs, paperback books. These extras help you to relax and enjoy your holiday.
Puerto Rey is an ideal holiday location for a relaxing break or as a base for exploring the area. With local watersports facilities, horse riding and go-karting, plus three 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole golf course all within 10km, there is plenty nearby for the active holidaymaker.
If an active holiday doesn't suit then there is the beautiful Puerto Rey beach, which has blue flag status, and offers miles of golden sands, several Chiringuitos, a Beach Club, all within 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
The areas biggest water park is under one mile from the apartment - here you can find flumes, swimming pools (one with a wave machine) restaurants, coffee bars and a varied timetable of activities throughout the day - local buses run to and from the park at regular intervals and this is also walkable.

The apartment is fully furnished and has satellite television, hot and cold air conditioning and benefits from additional ceiling fans in both bedrooms.
The kitchen is fully tiled and fitted with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, halogen hob and electric oven, stainless steel extractor fan, black granite worktops, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker - so there's no need to leave home comforts behind.
The kitchen door leads to the long side terrace where there is a glass table, 4 chairs and a gas BBQ. The side terrace runs the length of the apartment and has a spiral staircase which leads to the private rooftop solarium.
The lounge/dining area is open plan and very spacious with two sliding patio doors making the area very light and airy (one to the fron and one the the side) and accommodates 4 adults comfortably. In this area there is room to accommodate two additional portable beds. All bed linen, towels, table cloths, tea towels are included. Acommodation sleeps four comfortably, with one double room and one twin bedded room and two bathrooms.
The two bathrooms have full shower facilities. The main bathroom has marble walls and floor with a beautiful marble vanity basin and large mirror the other bathroom has a bidet and is fully tiled and both have full shower facilities and a window.
There is one double bedroom and one twin-bedded room. Patio doors from both bedrooms lead to the large front terrace.

A glass oblong table can be found on the front terrace with 6 chairs and two sunloungers. The midday sun protection is provided by two large adjustable awnings. The front terrace joins the side terrace where there is a further glass round table and four chairs and a large three-burner gas barbecue. All rooms have sliding patio doors which lead onto the terraces, and a kitchen door which opens on to the side terrace.
A spiral staircase from the side terrace leads to the private L-shaped rooftop solarium/roof terrace which has spectacular sea and mountain views. There is a square covered area with tiled roof which gives additional shade from the all-day sun and a seating area with a wicker table, setee and two chairs. For the real sun lovers there are 4 fully adjustable sun loungers.
The complex has two large outdoor swimming pools, both have separate pools for young children. A limited number of sunbeds and parasols surround the pool. The shared garden areas are all landscaped and have with wooden benches scattered throughout the complex. There is a play area for younger children. The complex is well light.

The Costa de Almeria region
Costa Almeria is in Andalucia, the southernmost province in Spain. It has a perfect climate with over 320 days of sunshine per year. There are miles of golden beaches along the coastline with scenic mountains inland.
Cabo de Gata is a large area of national park made up of coastal dunes, saline lagoons and hills of volcanic origin. Many interesting plants and animals are found here including flamingoes.
Further afield ( 2hrs drive) is the beautiful city of Granada with its ancient moorish palace, the Alhambra.
Holidays in Almeria offer a more authentic experience of life in southern Spain than the tourist-orientated resorts along the coast.
Almeria holidays offer uncrowded beaches and plenty of reliably hot sunshine. Almeria holidays are blessed with the sunniest driest climate in Spain and attract serious sunbathers from early spring to late autumn.
It has many unspoilt fishing villages, long sandy beaches and small intimate coves.
BEACHES
Some of Spain's least crowded and most beautiful golden beaches and sandy coves can be found in Almeria,
Mojocar and its neighbouring resorts has a soft sandy beach and Roquetas de Mar has a wide sand and shingle beach with good facilities and is uncrowded.
As Spain's driest province, Almeria is the ideal all year round golf holiday destination. The area is split into two for golf holiday three courses around 10 mins from the apartment; Desert Spring, Marina Golf and Valle del Este and another four courses within an hours drive; La Envïa Golf, Playa Serena Golf, Alboran Golf and Golf Almerimar. The whole coast is booming in terms of tourism but you get a feel for the real Spain here, and there are many more golf courses under construction. Almeria is becoming increasingly popular with golfers and is now recognised as one of Spain's premier golf destinations, it is easy to see why Almeria is now a serious rival to the more high-profile, and expensive golfing regions of the Costa del Sol, La Manga and The Algarve which are beginning to experience crowded courses where slow play can be a real issue.
SHOPPING
Open air markets and a variety of commercial shops can be found in most resorts while on holiday in Costa Almeria.
You can find local handicrafts, hand painted ceramics and leather goods in boutiques, local markets and beachside stalls.
NIGHTLIFE
Costa Almeria holidays offer relaxing days unwinding on the beach and the nightlife is leisurely and relatively low key. Most resorts have a selection of cafes, bars and excellent seafood restaurants though most of the evening entertainment may centre around the hotels.
Almeria airport is conveniently situated only 45 minutes drive away from Mojacar, more and more flights from popular airports in the UK, such as Stansted, Luton, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and others are now flying into Almeria.
Murcia airport is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Puerto Rey with Alicante airport being 2 hours away - both these airports have a variety of low cost airlines flying from many UK airports.
The Vera Playa / Garrucha Mojacar area
Vera Playa, is located closer to Garrucha than it is to Vera and boasts over four miles of clean sandy beaches stretching from Villaricos in the north to Garrucha in the south. The beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag quality award by the European Union. Close to Vera Playa is a open air water park that overlooks the sea. The park has an excellent variety of water rides, shoots and fumes, children's play area and three large swimming pools. The park is open from May until the end of September.
Don't miss the Saturday morning street market that seems to takes over the whole town, where absolutely everything is on sale, including a few useful items.
Parque Acuatico: Vera Playa is home to a splendid water park. The park offers a good selection of water flumes, slides and shoots, a kamikaze ride, three swimming pools, a safe children's play area and a good selection of refreshments and snacks. The park is a great day out for those who what to take a thrilling ride or others who what to relax on a sun bed by a pool or in the shaded picnic areas.
Traditional Spanish fishing town: Garrucha is situated in the Spanish Province of Almeria. It is a traditional Spanish fishing town nestling between Mojacar Playa and Vera Playa. Garrucha's boost is that it is the seafood capital of the Costa, and home to some of the finest seafood restaurants in Almeria. The focal point of the town is its working fishing port and marina where each morning at dawn, you can see fishing boats putting out to sea to return later in the day (17:00) laden with fish. Visitors can watch the fishermen offloaded their catch before it is auctioned at the quayside.
The apartment is a short walk (approximately 3 km) from the small town and fishing port of Garrucha. This is a spanish village with a magnificient beach and promenade with numerous restaurants and bars. Garrucha has a weekly market on Fridays.
Mojacar Playa is approximately 10 kilometres from the apartment. Here you will find an array of restaurants, bars, shops, banks, nightclubs, most of which are opened all year round. Mojacar Playa also has an excellent sandy beach and long promenade.
Mojacar Pueblo, the ancient moorish village of pretty cube-like whitewashed houses sits in the foothills of the mountains above the beach of Mojacar Playa. In June, Mojacar Pueblo boasts the fantastic Moors and Christians festival with mock battles, fireworks, markets, music and giant paellas.
The Sierra Nevada mountains, offering excellent hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter, can be reached in 2 hours. Granada is another place of considerable interest which can also be reached in 2 hours.
Local activities available include scuba-diving, water sports, horse riding and fishing.
The apartment is ideally situated near a number of superb golf courses. There are 4 courses for you to enjoy Mojacar golf. Marina de La Torre, Cortijo Grande, Valle del Este and Desert Springs.
Marina de la Torre is situated on the edge of Mojacar on the way to Garrucha. Cortijo Grande is located in the wonderful Sierra Cabrera Mountains, Valle del Este is just outside Vera and finally Desert Springs Golf Course is part of the Desert Springs Almeria conurbation close to Cuevas de Almanzora and just 15 minutes from Puerto Rey.
Marina Torre Golf Course - Mojacar
The Marina Torre Golf Course is situated beside the Mediterranean between the towns of Mojacar and Garrucha and just 5 minutes from the apartment. This magnificent golf course is part of the Marina del la Torre and Marina Playa Complex situated on the coast road between Mojacar and Garrucha. Split into two halves with nine-holes on either side of the tower on top of the hill, Marina de la Torre offers a testing mix. On one side there's attractive parkland with four lakes and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean whilst the other offers undulating terrain to test every standard of golfer. A driving range and excellent practice facilities add to the interest and a brand new clubhouse completes this new attraction to Mojacar.
Valle Del Este Golf Course - Vera
Valle del Este Golf Course is set against a stunning mountain backdrop just 10 minutes drive from Vera Playa.
The Valle del Este 18-hole golf course captures the character and spirit of Andalucia. It has been carefully designed to offer a challenge to both high and low handicappers with some difficult holes and some less difficult; very varied golf in Almeria. The course is built within the Valle Del Este Resort which includes, a hotel and superb facilities. And, in the heart of the hotel you can be find the Club House where you can relax after your round of golf in the restaurant, bar, or sit on the terrace near the fantastic outdoor swimming pool.
There is also a well stocked pro-shop, club room, changing rooms, trolley hire.
Cortijo Grande Golf Course - Turre
Cortijo Grande Golf Course is set in spectacular scenery in a valley at the foot of the Sierra Cabrera Mountains near to the bustling town of Turre and just 20 minutes from Mojacar. The Sierra Cabrera Mountains that surround the valley of Cortijo Grande rise to 1000m above sea level. The valley is an ancient oasis in the arid region of Almeria. And in this area' which claims the only desert in Europe, El Cortijo Grande, Almeria has become famous for its verdant landscape and lush vegetation. Cortijo Grande golf course, where almond, olive, orange and carob trees flourish, is set against this majestic backdrop of the Sierra Cabrera. And whilst there is some undulation the course, in the main, is relatively flat. This fertile valley, which is watered by an underground volcanic lake, has been an agricultural paradise for many centuries. The original Cortijo Grande golf course was 18 holes but is currently only 9. However, with 18 tee placements you are able to play a full 18. There are plans afoot to design and renovate the existing course back to 18 holes. Whilst the course is not overly long it will tax even the best of golfers. There are for example several 'blind' driving holes which add to the magic. Within the plans for the renovation is a new Club House which will offer spectacular views of the fairways and the Sierra Cabrera Mountains. The development will be constructed to the highest standard and will also include changing facilities and a pro shop. There will also be a restaurant and bar and terraces offering elevated views of the course.
Desert Springs Golf Course,Cuevas de Almanzora, Almeria. Just twenty minutes drive from Vera Playa
The Indiana Course, Desert Springs, Almeria is the first desert course in Europe built to the full USGA specifications. Its quality is comparable with the famous desert courses of Arizona and California. With fantastic views, and challenging holes it takes golf in Spain to new heights. Whilst the Desert Springs Golf Course is challenging the fairways are generous so that they ensure that the higher handicap player can enjoy the experience. Every hole on the Indiana course has features which can be brought into play - springs, watercourses, dry river beds, rock and cactus areas and bunkers - all are strategically placed to test the skills of golf's leading players when playing off the championship tees.
Playa Macenas Golf, Mojacar
Playa Macenas Golf and Beach Resort, Mojacar is a new golf course situated in the hills immediately across from Playa Macenas, Mojacar. The Playa Macenas Golf course, Mojacar is a new golf course in Mojacar and opened in 2009. Built into the hills immediately across from Playa Macenas, Mojacar the course will offer first class golf as well as great views of the Mediterranean.
There is an exciting water park within walking distance (under a mile), a perfect day out for children with wave machines, flumes, coffee shops, cafes and more.
Within 5 minutes drive (4 kilometres) there is a Go-Karting track which is open all year round, a great time can be had by all the family with cafe and bar.
Mini Hollywood is 45 minutes drive away. This is a themed wild west town in the Tabernas Desert, where many Hollywood westerns were made. It is a great day out for the whole family with entertainment including mock cowboy shoot-outs, performing parrots and a zoo.

Excellent facilities, our holiday was very enjoyable and the accommodation and facilities were excellent.
Plenty to do within walking distance - it is not necessary to have a car as there is a supermarket and shops etc. within walking distance.
The apartment has a great mix of shade and sun available throughout the whole day.
Excellent directions given from Airport to apartment.
Extremely spacious and beautiful apartment - well equipped - home from home.
