Home description

This attractive new property has been built in a distinct Andalucian style on the luxury complex of Al Andalus Thalassa. It has controlled access and is in Vera on the Costa de Almeria. The house consists of three bedrooms comfortably sleeping six people and there is a sofabed in the lounge to sleep an extra person. A travel cot is also available if required. This award winning complex recently featured on GMTV (September 2008).

Our house is very well situated enjoying one of the most sunny and scenic positions on the whole complex. It is south-westerly facing and the terrace enjoys the sun from early morning until sunset. The distant sea views and Mojacar Puebla in the mountains can be seen from the terrace.

The Costa de Almeria region

Costa de Almeria is on the south east of Spain and is one of the warmest and driest areas of the country with an average of 320 days of sunshine a year. It is approximately a 30 minute drive to the Cabo de Gata Natural Park which extends 30km along the coast, 2.5 hours to Granada and three hours to the Sierra Nevada ski resort. Between November and April it is possible to take a daytrip to enjoy skiing or snowboarding.

Vera Playa / Al Andalus Thalassa area

This is a very quiet and uncommercialised area which is ideal for all year round sunshine. There are numerous typical Spanish towns and villages closeby to explore.

The house is situated 1km from the extensive sandy beach at Vera Playa (an area of which is reserved for naturists) and a short drive up the coast there are several rocky coves ideal for snorkelling. Scuba diving and boat trips are also available locally. The picturesque village of Mojacar Puebla with its whitewashed houses and narrow cobbled streets is about a 10 minute drive away. Within a few minutes drive there is an aquapark, golf courses, go-karting, many shops and restaurants. The nearby fishing port of Garrucha has many restaurants serving locally caught fish and seafood.

How to get there

Flights available through Ryanair, Easyjet and Monarch to Almeria (50 minutes) or Murcia (1 hour 30 minutes).
Car hire is recommended and can be booked through Carjet, Solmar, Goldcar or Europcar. Airport transfers can be arranged if preferred.

Upstairs has one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a bathroom with bath, shower, wc and bidet. There is access to a large terrace which is furnished with table, chairs and sunbeds. Downstairs there is a further twin bedroom and shower room with wc. The lounge/diner is very comfortable with two sofas, television, dvd, hi-fi and playstation (there is a selection of CDs, DVDs and games for your use). The fully fitted kitchen includes full size cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster and kettle. There is a washing machine in the utility room. The house has air-conditioning and central heating. There is a furnished patio to the front with a small private garden.

The complex has very attractive landscaped gardens with various water features and tropical plants. There are two large outdoor pools (open May to September), two children's pools and playgrounds. The fully equipped spa and fitness centre also has an indoor heated pool , jacuzzi, sauna and steamroom. There is a full size tennis court (rackets and balls provided) and two paddle courts. All these facilities are free of charge.

We have provided everything you could need for your holiday, including all bed linen and towels. There are deck chairs, beach towels and umbrellas for your use at the pool or the beach, bats, balls, lilos and games for the children.
