About the home

We are pleased to offer our seaside apartment for your self-catering holiday requirements. This is a much-loved upstairs three bedroom apartment, in a well-maintained and well-established complex. Although fully air-conditioned for those hot summer days, there is usually a good through breeze which suffices, keeping your electricity bill down. Plenty of outside terrace space for outdoor dining, one of the complex's well-maintained swimming pools (plus paddling pool for the little ones) just at the bottom of the stairs, ten minutes walk to the beach.

The Costa de Almeria region

Almeria is the only true desert region of Europe. So if you want a sunny break in an exceptionally dry climate (great for asthma sufferers), this may be for you.

We can't guarantee it won't rain, but it's unlikely. The Cabo de Gato National Park is a lovely area just along the coast, and Almeria's castle is a tiny version of Granada's Alhambra. Previous visitors have made the trip to Granada itself (which has a great ski resort) as well as to Mini Hollywood theme parks (home to the some of the original 'Paella Westerns').

The Vera Playa area

The apartment is within easy walking distance of Garrucha, a fishing town, in one direction along a well-maintained prom, and Villaricos, a fishing village, in the other, this time along the beach.

Local buses can take you to the local town of Vera, or further up the coast to the popular resort of Mojacar. Even closer, however, there are some good bars and a couple of small supermarkets around the edge of the complex, for all of your basic daily requirements.

The closest airport - 45 minutes away - is Almeria, but the small airport of Murcia is also a good choice: just an hour and a half away on a very good quiet new toll road (AP7). Alicante is two hours away on the regular motorway and makes for a very straightforward drive.

Public transport links between the airport and the apartment are not good, and taxis are relatively expensive, so a hire car (booked in advance) is advised. There is plenty of parking at the apartment complex.

The rental charge is all inclusive apart from cost of electricity used, which is recharged according to usage at the standard electricty company rates (Endesa).

All charges are quoted in sterling, and we use the European Central Bank conversion rate to calculate payments in euros. Payments can be made by direct bank transfer to either a Spanish (euro) or UK (sterling) bank account.

A 200 pound sterling deposit will be taken, to be returned after deductions within 21 days of the departure date.

Optional charges:

- Sheets and towels are available at a cost of 10 pounds sterling per person.

- On departure, the apartment should be left as you found it, or an optional charge of 50 pounds sterling can be paid if you do not wish to/will not have time to do the final cleaning yourselves.
