The Isle of Wight hosts one of the biggest pop festivals in the country which is now award winning, also there are water sports festivals and Cowes week the biggest yachting festival in the world.

The Ventnor / St Lawrence, Ventnor area
A Victorian seaside town with a Mediterranean feel, Ventnor is one of the sunniest spots on the island. Built on a series of terraces beneath St Bonchurch Down the town's roads zigzag down to the sea past the beautifully planted cascade.
Over the past years Ventnor has become a very popular resort with the introduction of new wine bars, fine dining and fabulous properties.
The esplanade has a sand and shingle beach ideal for swimming, sunbathing or walking. Adjacent to the beach you will find pubs & cafes who offer locally caught sea food. Watch the boats leave from the harbour and return with the day's catch from the beach front cafes and The Spyglass Inn.

Guestbook for Breakers Sound
Just back from your idyllic cottage where we had a superb week with weather to match. The cottage really is a find - cosy, comfortable and serene with views and gardens to die for. We have been to the Island many times over the years and tend to visit every one or two years as we like the place so much; your cottage ranks with the very best accommodation we have enjoyed over the years and whenever we intend visiting again be assured that we will be in touch with you. Thank you so much for making the week so enjoyable.
Very best wishes, Paul & Chris Wyatt
Just a brief note (as we couldn't find a pen to put our thoughts into your visitors book!) to say thank for allowing us to rent your most fabulous retreat. What a beautiful cottage, spectacular location and (thanks largely to 3 days of blue skies) we had a fantastic time exploring the coastline, playing cricket on the beach in Ventnor and taking the boys to Alum Bay. You really do have a most spectacular place and we sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to rent it again in the very near future. Thanks also for accommodating our short break request.

Thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful cottage, I don’t know how you bring yourself to let people stay there, if it were mine I just would not want to share it.
We had fantastic weather, fantastic food and service in the Ale and Oyster, the dog loved everything and we just did not want to leave.
We will hopefully try booking a week in September and this time you may really struggle to get us to leave!!!

I want to say that the Cottage is as attractive and comfortable as it promised to be. The garden and the peacefulness are a considerable part of the charm and your housekeeping team present the place very nicely.
We enjoyed some outstanding weather and were sorry to leave the cottage and St Lawrence behind us.

A very belated note to say how much we enjoyed staying at Breakers Sound over the New Year period. We had a great time and really enjoyed your cottage. Despite the cold weather we managed to get out for some bike rides and walks and really appriecated the log burning stove when we got back. So thank you and hopefully we left everything as it should be. It was a treat to rent a cottage that was so obviously a home and I do hope that everyone that stays there in the futue looks after it.

I just thought I would drop you a quick line to say how much we all enjoyed your beautiful home, and it is like a home as it felt like that as soon as we walked in. You have really thought of everything and that makes a refreshing change from just a holiday let.
The garden is wonderful, it was so peaceful just sitting on the swing with those great views, it was a heaven to re charge the batteries.
It was our first visit to IOW and we certainly will be going back, in fact we are thinking of it for next year already.
regards
Mrs Deighton August 2009
