The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight has a wide variety of attractions for the whole family, sandy beaches, fossil rich shores, beautiful scenic countryside, much of which is AONB. Historic Osborne House and other historic properties can be visited. It is a walker, cyclist and horse riders paradise with over 500 miles of footpaths and bridleways.
Godshill is very popular with tourists who enjoy visiting the model village, small, unique shops, tearooms, 14th century church, pubs and restaurant.
Godshill Park Farm is down a quarter mile private drive which ensures peace and quiet, but within walking distance of the village and also Wroxall.

"A very relaxing place to stay"
We have stayed at Lake View twice. The property is very comfortable with good beds and plenty of room to relax. It has a well appointed kitchen with built in appliances. We love all the farm animals especially the llamas and alpacas. The property is within easy walking distance to Godshill which has a range of shops, restaurants and pubs. The deck to the rear of the property affords wonderful views over the rolling countryside and is just the place to relax after a day spent walking or sightseeing. We are returning this year.
Thank you very much for this and look forward to seeing you again soon.

"Wonderful, welcoming and relaxing"
We have stayed at godshill park farm once or twice a year since 2007. Our children have grown up loving every experience. Helping with the animals, walking and exploring. The village is only 10 min walk and dinner at the Taverners has never disappointed. The griffin is suited for families and although it's had its ups and downs over the years last years meal (February and July) we're really good. We love the Isle of Wight and were heading back again in July 13
Thank you very much for this and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

As an indication of our opinion of Lake View this must be the fourth or fifth time we have stayed there, and will be again in 2014.
Lake View is located on Godshill Park Farm, about 1/3 of a mile down a single track road off the main road, and about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Godshill and a very popular local pub, The Griffin.
Lake View itself comprises of a large open plan kitchen/living room, 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 triple), and a bathroom. The kitchen/living room (pictured) has a very well equipped modern and spacious kitchen area with windows overlooking the field in front, making it naturally well lit. The living room area is spacious and well equipped with ample storage space, there is enough seating for 6 and a sturdy dining room table with seating for 6. The whole living room area has patio windows opening on to a veranda which overlook the field in front. The double bedroom is also well equipped and spacious with ample storage space and very comfortable. The triple is virtually the same size but still easily big enough, with boxes of toys for the little ones. The bathroom is one again well equipped and spacious, with a bath and handheld shower, separate shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin. As you can gather two of the main assets are the space and equipment, which are both excellent.
Outside is a veranda, with seating and barbecue, overlooking a field sloping down to the parking space, about 20 yards away. In the field are various animals in hutches/coops, rabbits, guinea pigs, hens etc, and these change from year to year. The farm also has a few very friendly dogs which roam around freely, but I must stress the friendly, my children have never had a problem with any of them. Beyond the field is the rest of the farm, with numerous animals for the kids to enjoy, although beware of the geese, they tend to stick together and are not as friendly as the dogs!!!
Beyond the farm their is a nice stroll through the woods to Godshill village. For the more energetic Appuldurcombe Estate, or the monument (forgotten name) at the top of the hill opposite. We have walked to the monument twice, and its not half as bad as it looks.
The owners, Kathy and Mark, basically leave you to your own devices. Having said that they live in the farmhouse, so are there if you need them. One thing to remember is that this is a working farm, so if they are not immediately to hand they will be soon around.
To sum up this is a wonderful accommodation in a superbly peaceful setting, and yet within fairly easy of most of the islands attractions. An island which we have found fantastic for a family holiday with young children.
Thanks very much for this. Look forward to seeing you all again soon. Happy New Year!
